just some speculation

The fist time I saw berserk I felt it was very "dark" (the manga itself that is), from 2-10 it seemed pretty normal not too "dark" yet not too "fantasy/heroic", after 13 the series becomes "dark" once more, now it almost seems like the series is less dark. Do you feel the same way or is it just the fact that I havesome pot holes in my knowledge of berserk.

Whenever Guts isn't hunting apostles and getting the shit beat out of him, the story seems a little lighter. We are by no means as cheery as Band of the Hawk volumes. Since Guts has some friends by his side, his life is less dark.

Face it, Chapter 23 just blows ass.
