Roger Waters: The Wall tour 2010

So I grew up listening to Pink Floyd because my parents love the band. My dad introduced the band to Mom and he'd make mix tapes of albums from em, etc. etc. while he was courting her. For me, their music is personal, reminding me of my childhood and a bunch of memories. When I heard Waters was playing The Wall, I had to watch ... come what may. I was reeeaaally tempted to pick up the 1+K ticket but settled for 460-480$ and a decent seat as you'll see below. This was at Madison Square Garden, my first concert at the venue. I don't have a lot of pictures because I was holding my camera in my right hand recording songs, I'd switch a few times just to take a snap or two ... so here goes

This is easily the biggest concert I've been to, and I don't think anything will top it, unless Gilmour gets touring! Knowing all the songs, singing along, I couldn't stop smiling and pinching myself I was experiencing it. I called home inspite of the time differential and woke my bro, dad, mom to listen to Waters. I didn't tell them I was going, or that there was such a concert even, so it sorta caught em offguard, breaking down (in tears) over the phone. That for me was priceless.

Is anyone else going? Check his tour dates and book!

EDIT: Here're a few pictures off my BBerry as I took videos with my other camera.

Looks like a truly unique experience. Good to know you could live this and that it delivered what you were looking for.

Have a blast Johnstantine! Sure was TBOD :slan:

Yeah Aazealh, I'm just in so much awe, and it still hasn't sunk in. Those 2 / 2.5 hours swept by so quick, I wanted more yet it was a perfect end. Waters sounds SO good, I honestly didn't expect it. Maaan, turn back time! Get me that time machine from Futurama :femto:

Oh man. I wish I would have known about this earlier. Only tickets left for the Saint Paul show are $230 bucks a pop which is definitely out of my price range right now. I'm glad it was so amazing :ubik:

Im going Nov 14th. Booked the tix about 5 months ago for mothers day. Been looking forward to this for a long time. I saw Waters approx 10 years ago with my mother also. Its her favorite band.

For those going to the concert, where are your seats?

That's cool man! The people on the floor looked like they had a lotta fun because they had to stand throughout the concert, raise their arms and what not. For the guys sitting, usually it's a little harder to do all that cos of the people behind you (if they're seated, etc.) like the gentleman next to me came in crutches and it wouldn't make sense for him to stand through the concert.

Aaahhh beware of high prices for the merch :slan: ... tees are $45 a pop, or at least they were that price for Madison Square Garden.

Skibbidy Boo Bop
They're probably going to be the same everywhere.

This is a rare tour(it's been like 20 years or so), so they're going to shaft you for all they can.

Wow after reading about those ticket prices i can't believe mine was only 55€.

All those people with cellphones and cameras make me sick. I believe Roger's crew is warning during this tour not to use flashes because it screws up the projections.

Looks like he's doing new shows. For anyone who wants to go again or didn't get a chance to go the first time - http://tour.rogerwaters.com/

I remember kicking myself for not hitting up their other show but it was sold out at the time and I knew of the tour last minute. I'm going to watch this in July. This time I'll try to sit dead center and a little further (not cos it's a cheaper ticket) because the stage is WIDE. I'll try to convince my Dad to get here for a week to coincide his visit with the show and surprise him.

Ho god,

You are a lucky one.

I love Pink Floyd and really love Roger Water. My favourite song in the wall is "confortably numb". I really love Gilmour's guitar solo in this song.

I hope one day, roger or Pink floyd will make a last tour in France but i am dreaming... but i ll cross my fingers.

Thanks for the pics, I am crying ... :judo:

Epic. They came down here to Florida and I was set to go but a medical emergency coupled with a financial one meant I missed it. Thanks for posting the pics though, that was amazing. :ubik:

Long time fan of Pink Floyd and The Wall is a work of art! Awesome.
