Berserk Saga Project News

Lyrics are here: http://www.uta-net.com/song/124329/ But as far as translations go, good luck! I can tell you that Japanese pop song lyrics generally are not worth the effort of translating.
There's just one Hirasawa song, Aria. And it's not on the soundtrack, which is by Shiro Sagisu. Full details were posted earlier here: http://www.skullknight.net/forum/index.php?topic=12735.msg205684#msg205684

Well, I prefer not to judge before knowing something. I'll wait for a translation. :ganishka:

Sorry, I was referring to the next movies. Not only for this trilogy, but for the rest as well. I'm sure Hirasawa will give more contributions, and I like music in general, so I'm already curious as hell.

Well now we won't have to wait so long to enjoy the ED theme for the 1st Berserk Trilogy. Now if only someone
could do the same for Aria we would all be happy campers.

Though he does appear to have a YouTube account, Hirasawa isn't the sorta guy that puts his new music up on YouTube (like AI did today). He could always surprise us, but you shouldn't expect to see it there in full, in the near future. You should probably just go ahead and preorder the CD for Aria. I just did today.

He has been splicing together what's available of the song from trailers, and pairing it with a video of his recording though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Woir_7DjA5Q Really loving that ending part.

I did as well this morning when I placed an order for Hirasawa's Aria Single + the soundtrack and AI's Independent Album.

Those lighting effects in the Corkus interview... look weird. Same with the flash animation falling leaves. I appreciate the effort at detail and realism but the scene would've almost been better with flat lighting. Very distracting.

That dimple at 2:33 makes Griffith look fuck ugly.

That's not a dimple, it's the bruise he got when Guts pummeled his purdy face. :guts:

Anyone have any idea what's being said in these? Even a basic translation. I'm sure it's all simple promotional stuff, but it'd be interesting to hear the actor's take on their character.

I actually really liked the Gaston and Julius scenes. It had that darker atmosphere that most of the other footage seemed to be lacking. But I don't like that mask Guts has on. I hope he isn't going to be wearing that when he kills Adonis. All the emotion in that scene comes from Guts' face as the kid dies. He better take off the mask :azan:

I don't think he does. If you remember, we see him later fighting some guards while wearing the mask, though it's possible he took it off for a moment, thinking all was in the clear before killing Adonis and putting it back on.

I don't approve of the mask either. If they decide not to remove his mask, they could still show emotion with Guts' eyes though. It also seems like they are keeping the different sword. In the movie Guts strikes at Julius' sword and then deals the finishing blow I presume. While in the manga Guts does only 1 swift strike before Julius has a chance to ready himself.

They've uploaded a new TV commercial, but nothing special or new about it.

Chica Umino, which some of you may remember as the author of March Lion, has posted a long review of the movie on Twitter. In short, she says that because Miura is a very good friend and an esteemed colleague of hers, she was a bit apprehensive and negative about the prospect of a movie, like other Berserk fans. She was afraid they wouldn't do it justice, and didn't want to see his life's work be treated badly. But after seeing it she's pleased. She's pretty enthusiastic about it overall, and says Miura himself wore a "mysterious smile" and seemed proud of the movie.

These sound like great news :ubik: Maybe Berserk finally got the adaptation it deserved for years? I got even more excited about the movie now. That "mysterious smile" sounds good.

I'd like to think that they sat next to each other during the whole movie and at one point Miura yawned, stretched out his arms, then put an arm around her. Then when she turned to look at him, he took his index finger, pointed to the screen twice, then took his thumb and thumbed himself, all while wearing a "mysterious smile" on his face, as if to say, "Hey babe, look what I created."

Seriously I hope they're a secret couple.

I hope so! But not in this macho behaviour you described ;). I can't picture him that way. But they could work out as a couple in my fantasy, since i like her works!

Thanks for the translation Aazealh, sounds awesome! Can't wait for this movie to be rls'd on blu-ray.

That's a great image. I laughed! :ganishka:

Regardless of whether Miura's putting the moves on Umino, his reaction to the movie so far does give me some hope.

Hello long time lurker here even before joining and like the majority here berserk to me is the best manga ever created. I remember when I compared the TV series with the manga and how I felt dispointed as not only the animation and art were lacking but because there were very important stuff cut from the story it was impossible to do a sequel to old TV series. I like all the other fans kept reading the manga hoping there will be a new adaption and after a very long wait my dream came true. I would be lying if I said that I don't have mix feeling about it one of my worries is the extreme usage of the CGI I hope it become less noticeable when seeing the movie in high definition the other thing I have noticed is in the first duel between Guts and Griffith Guts didn't use the mud to blind Griffith to me this is important as it shows how skillful Griffith is and how guts is not your typically nice fair guy as he is willing to do anything to win. Other points been pointed such as the ridiculous effect from the clash of guts and Griffith swords. Can the three movies cover the whole golden age or will be there some section of the story this also I am worried about.

This has put me on little ease don't get me wrong I will buy all the movies and ova's when they come out as it still hold the name of berserk it is just I am not alone in my worries as Chica Umino also had her doubts same goes to us because we know how Miura puts a lot of effort and love in creating his work. When the studio approached Miura they mentioned how they are enthusiast about doing the anime and that they are fans let's hope we see these words translate to the work.
