That would be fitting.
Unless the story goes back to Griffith.
With Episode 324, Volume 36 is likely complete. Which means this has 9 episodes in it, not the usual 10. We were all secretly hoping that wouldn't be the case, but the trend started with Volume 35. There was a time, pre-vol 22, when the volumes contained 11 episodes.

I'm pretty fucking upset that we're down to 9 episodes per volume. I feel ripped off. Couldn't they wait for Miura to complete ONE MORE EPISODE?!

You know I share your feelings of disappointment, but I don't think it's got much to do with waiting for Miura to produce more (although clearly the slower release schedule provided a good reason for it). It's a deliberate move by the editor and if anything it seems to bring Berserk closer to the norm (not that it's a good thing). Like Walter mentioned it's not the first time it's happened.

What we shouldn't lose sight of is the amount of content per volume we're getting (counting just the story parts, not the transitions, credits, ads, characters profiles, etc.). As I demonstrated last year it wasn't that bad when volume 35 was released, but it seems we'll only be getting 185 pages of pure content (going from episode 316 to 324) this time around. For reference, volume 21 has 228 such pages.

Good news, ladies and gents!! :guts:
The upcoming vol 36 of Berserk has just become available for pre-order on Amazon Japan.

I've already placed my order on it. Hopefully, Amazon will put the volume 36 cover art up in 2-3 weeks or so once it's ready, as can't none of us wait to see it.

The amazon link has been up for a while. It actually predated the S-Book posting. Anyway, the cover to the newest volume is usually first shown in YA on the episode that coincides with the volume's release. So don't expect to see anything about that until late September.

The style reminds me of some of the earlier covers. Also, I love the boss' silly face on the side.

Somewhere along volume 14 and 17 covers, Miura's Chiaroscuro method is amazing. Thanks for the pics !

I didn't really like it at first glance, but upon closer look, there's a kind of blur effect going on around the edges of the picture. Pretty awesome, really.

Is there anywhere besides Amazon that I can pre-order it? 40+ USD for shipping just seems a little steep. I think I used to order them from sasugabooks but the site's shut down now and it's been so long since I've ordered the Japanese volumes. Thanks.
