No problem! They're definitely my most closely-watched project at the moment. I'm already itching for the next chapter in their series but likely wouldn't even be written for another 2 years, the only problem with ambitious concept albums haha.

Fall of Efrafa were really good too, which was the singer's old project, a 3-album concept band based on Watership Down.

I've been listening to Silver Tongue since this morning and it's very very good... loving the whole album theme and artworks.

Not sure if you guys are familiar with any Unique Leader stuff but among the new wave of bands, Fallujah have a new one coming out, track below, a lot more melodic/ atmospheric sounding than their first album -

Will listen to the album before picking it up but definitely has potential.

New track off Kylesa called Unspoken, starts off ordinary but gets hypnotic towards the end - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=4n3uzyMB2II#!

Listen to the Nightbringer track on here, just intense - http://daemonworship.bandcamp.com/album/circumambulations-of-the-solar-inferno

I love the new Vemod album too, check it out if you haven't, atmospheric and melodic black metal - http://vemod.bandcamp.com/

Last concert I went to was part of the Teutonic terror tour with Kreator and Accept headlining. Great bands but a shitty club, which isn't surprising for Seattle where metal is concerned. Saw a 3 hour Dream Theater show at the Moore Theater awhile back but that was the exception, since the Moore is a great place for concerts.

Bought my ticket for Maryland Deathfest but couldn't go (this weekend) because of medical bills from a recent hospital trip. I missed seeing some really good bands and Iniquity (sob).

Anyway, what are some of your favorite records so far this year? What upcoming releases are you waiting on? I'll post some after you guys, go!

The new Hypocrisy and Immolation albums were so so. I'm looking forward to the new Deceased and the new Carcass albums.

MDF looked pretty sick this year but a 4-day pass was too rich for my blood. I really did want to see Bolt Thrower and Carcass though.

Outside of metal, last weekend I saw Judge reunite and that was pretty wild.

Guttural Secrete officially broke up a few days ago, though according to a friend of mine it's been sorta in the works for months. The new album is one of the best Brutal DM releases this year alongside the new Wormed. Sad news : / ... the last song on the album had such a cool droney-beautiful part - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhxpPvBagMY

This just came out, melo-proggy-djenty stuff - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=NXpq6XZDRBI

New Gorguts should come out this year - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=wEX5n3_p254

New Carcass album pwns. A must have for serious metal fans.

It's pretty mundane and plain boring. Reek, Symphonies and Tools of the Trade are the only albums worth it as far as I'm concerned.

I'm seeing Alcest and Anathema tomorrow night, stoked.

New Gorguts has found a lot of love, which is great news for the band. I just got my record yesterday, so I've only been able to listen to it a few times through the night and it's MASSIVE.

New Inquisition - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=tLZQZaVNi0g

New Castevet comes out next month, sounds promising - http://pitchfork.com/reviews/tracks/15891-as-fathomed-by-beggars-and-victims/

New Ulcerate - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5SkcwHykU0

New Mortal Decay with Danny (Malignancy on vocals) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=hGHaTf6Blxs

New Saprogenic is pretty fun, I like the other vocalist over the original guy (2:10 groove) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whbuqXbgJbc

There's a lot that's coming out this year.

^ Just listening to the classics, lately.

Oldie and a goldie. I missed Bolt Thrower at MDF 2/3 years ago. For Victory is the last album I enjoyed by em.

Sect Pig's second LP is my most highly anticipated musical release of the year. I can already tell its going to be pure audial decimation.

I'm not much of a metalhead but I'm always hearing about how diverse a genre it is. I may go through some of the recommendations here when I've got time.

Recently heard this song and thought it was pretty cool. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4KXMyb-aGY
