Skull knight - elf connection?

Hi all, I recently saw /u/thekingbobe's post on reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Berserk/comments/621vv0/s_skeleknight_question/

While I certainly don't think his speculation of SK being the Sovereign of the Flower Storm has any credence it did make me carefully rethink the connections between SK and the elves.
I did a quick search on sk.net and found these threads:
http://www.skullknight.net/forum/index.php?topic=14647.0 (SK is a Half-Elf )
http://www.skullknight.net/forum/index.php?topic=14759.0 (Peekaf the elf king)
http://www.skullknight.net/forum/index.php?topic=13895 (Skull Knight = The Flower Storm King)

The above threads basically dismiss the possibility of SK being a half-elf or the Sovereign of the Flower Storm. However, I think it is obvious there is some strong connection between the elves and SK.
I believe there has been a few occasions where SK has been likened to an elf. Notably:
From episode 142

Walter also pointed out that SK's emblem happens to be a flower, which while it doesn't prove much may suggest a deeper connection between him and the Sovereign of the Flower Storm.

Do we have any ideas about this connection yet?

Based on the following assumptions:
 • SK is/was Gaeseric
 • Gaeseric was human (no part-elf here!)
 • SK was the former wearer of the berserker armor that "died"
 • SK/Flora had a substantial relationship with SotFS

My first thought was that perhaps that when SK was consumed by the berserker armor the Sovereign of the Flower Storm performed some ritual that transferred his essence into it's current form and in doing so left a distinctly elven aura on him.
This could be another reason that SK seemed so familiar with the SotFS's powers and thus told guts that upon his arrival to Skellig SotFS would be able to help Casca.

So I ask those who are likely more informed than I:

Do we have any theories about the relationship between Gaeseric and the elves.

Do we have any information about the dwarves that might relate the armor with the elves

Do we have anything relating Flora to the elves other than a) she had an elf living with her and b) elfhelm seems to be a haven for magic-users
Not sure if you're caught up with the series, but we now know
it's a lady. :slan:
So Sovereign of the Flower Storm is now the appropriate title.

Yea Im aware, not sure why i wrote the post like that but i was reading a ton of old posts so maybe it engraved it in my mind that way. I'll go back and change it Xp

The theory I've subscribed to for years is that the aura Puck detected resulted from whatever method [the Sovereign] used to bind SK's soul to the armor. Also, I think the armor itself came from the elves, just as the Berserk Armor was made by dwarves (a kind of elf).

That addresses your first two questions, and the third:

Do we have anything relating Flora to the elves other than a) she had an elf living with her and b) elfhelm seems to be a haven for magic-users

Yes, Ged said Flora was his "old friend," so we can surmise that she used to live there among the other magic users in Elfhelm. It's possible that's how she met up with Gaiseric, as a young witch who aided in his soul-transference process.

If you're curious about hearing more, we have a 3 part Skull Knight podcast early on in the history of the show that goes into all sorts of theories.

It will probably not surprise you to learn that we basically formulated this idea the day we learned of the Sovereign of the Flower Storm's existence (over 10 years ago). It is still the leading theory today.

Definitely didn't know that dwarves were a kind of elf, thanks for the info. I didn't realize that the armor was that closely tied to the elves.

I have actually already listened to those 3! Ever since I found SK.net i've been slowly working my way thru the podcasts, think I'm on #24 atm, great stuff btw. It has been some months since i listened to the 3-part one on SK tho, I'd like to revisit but i still have so many casts to get thru. :ubik:

Ah very interesting, I wonder if that's truly when they first met. I always wondered at what point in their lives they first crossed paths.

God over 10 years- I'm so far behind the curve. 10 years ago I hadn't even found berserk yet- better late than never?

Of course man, there's no shame in coming into a work late in its life, although that does usually mean none of your ideas are groundbreaking anymore. :void:
