I think the author would say that to everybody who wants to understand his work... or, read Noise, a parallel work he's made in response to interrgations of the readers.

well, theres this internet dimension, that has a great deal of effect on the material world. Humans used to be able to conect to this, however, no one can find the DNA neccesary anymore, and everything is going to hell.

They need to access this net to fix stuff.
