The Dragon Slayer in Castelvania: Aria of Sorrow?

There's a sword in this GBA game called Ascalon, and it's description says: "Famous sword of the dragon slayers." It looks almost exactly like the Dragon Slayer. It's not quite as big as the DS, it's still pretty huge though. I wonder what that's about? I thought it was pretty neat.

there's actually two "famous sword of the dragon slayers" in the game, second one looks nothing like Guts' sword though
