Ragnarok Online: Matyr = Beast?

Simple topic, no idea if anybody has noticed before, topic search brought up nothing.

There is a critter on Ragnarok Online called a Matyr. It looks like this:



Does this not look eerily like the Beast?

Yeah, we can see some things of berserk, mainly the DS and Guts' armor, in many Korean game.
You can see some sword looking eerily ;D like the DS in lineage game.

** Anyway,
I heard some Korean said the beast-like things were very common creatures to Japanese people because it came from traditional Japanese tale transmitted by word of mouth.

And she also said we could see some creature similar to the beast in the manga "Hoya, the magic boy", which is Korean title I don't know this manga and its original Japanese title.

Anyway, I want to know if what she said is true.
Anybody knows about that? ::)
