Skull Knight Colorization

Not really finished with this one, but spent a fair amount of time on it already and I figured I'll post it up here and get some comments while I take a break from it for a few days.
I want to add more detail to the background (a third layer of distant trees) and make Skull Knight's underarmor look more metallic. Thinking of doing the spikes on the armor as a silver accent color, but not sure since I see Skull Knight as being generally monochromatic and having 3 different materials in his armor rather than 2 reduces the prominence of the bone theme... Also want to do the horse's color myself instead of the black line colorization, but I'll need to see if I can handle that.
In general I want to achieve a sort of half-there look to this piece to emphasize Skull Knight's otherworldly nature, perhaps adding in some mist and messing around with his lines to reduce his appearance of solidity. But I'm not really anywhere near that point yet.

Great job on the cape. Put a layer of gray on the entire suit of armour and it should look great. Just make sure to show glints and shines so it isn't dull grayness. Also put a little bit of yellow towards the center of the eyes... here like this. Feel free to use it.

Thanks Jon, I will keep your suggestions in mind.

Good eye with the eyes too. I added that in a few minutes before I uploaded it simply so no one would mention that the eyes should be colored. I'm not sure if I will use yours but it's something I know I need to take a look at once I pick this up again.

Too damn hot around here to do anything except sit by the fan, so here's a somewhat done version.

It's on geocities, so I don't know how many people will be able to look at it. If it's down for anyone I may look into getting a better place to host images.
