Episode 262

Uhh yeah, what would they say? "Please don't? :judo:"
I'm sure they're going to want hefty protection from the Kushans if/when they find out they were behind the familiars. Including the Vandimions Farnese is leaving behind. I hope we find out what she's thinking about their situation when she departs, since I'm not sure how they can survive without some incredible force protecting them. Unless the Holy See Alliances' forces have got some trump cards of their own of course.

There are several different possibilities of course, but what's for sure I think is that they aren't going to stay at the ballroom for much longer. Either Guts' group will escort them out until they can go each their own way, or the nobles will just join with their troops on their own (risky for them IMO). Or any variation of these 2 cases. Or something unpredictable will happen. :chomp:

And then, there's Sonja's prediction that destruction will ensue. In any case, I don't think it's going to be easy for these poor guys to stay alive.

im a little lost right now, wheres is griffith currently?! ner vritannis or what?
That's kind of hard to say...probably somewhere in the vicinity of Wyndam, but no exact locations have been given. Last we saw he was resting up with his troops, most likely before going into another battle. :griff:

Considering how Guts' raidscue team saved the ball, the situation might change a little. Imagine Owen reveals Guts' identity to every one, the 100 men man, Federico might asks him to help the city out. But then, Guts would say they have to quit onship. Roderick would intervene and say he wanna come with Farnese, and he could borrow a ship. Then there's Magnifico and the rest. They could ask Guts to help the flee of the Vandimions/help in war before letting him go with Rod's ship. Maybe they'd end up nobles and Guts' team together on sea, having to deal with Daiba after some tigers sauce down-town and a possible reapparence of a frenzied Azan. As for Griffith and the rest of the Kushans, I don't really know if they would interfere...I for one think this isn't the time yet for Guts to meet Silatt or the others anew.

That is one beautiful drawing of Guts' armor there.

Kind of funny that you mentioned it. Especially how from the first book how Guts has changed over the years. I kind of like it how characters actually develop not like American comicbooks where it's just rehashed or recycled. Superman still has the same costume or Archie is still in high school.

A lot of what your saying I could agree that this might strongly happen in the upcoming episodes.

Farnese will finally be useful in combat, a good start to things in the future. All that remains now is Casca. I can't see Magnifico joining the group, but it's seems he will have a recurring role in the future of the story.

On a side note I can't help but consider the possibility of Guts preventing the fall of the city now that he has interfered this much.... but probably not.

Can't wait to see what happens next episode, but still more anticipating the journeys next step after Vritannis.

I know this is coming from left field, but I have been considering the possibility that Guts may play a role in the destruction of the city. If our man Griff decides to make an appearance, the Beast may well surface, and I seriously doubt preserving Vritannis will be of much importance to Guts if so.

Guts would likely collapse and die of exhaustion before ruining even half the city, making the story rather short (not to mention sad). ^_^;

I think that's also the next logical step Miura's going to take with the nobles. They'll be looking to get away from any dangerous situation anyway they can. The fun is, as you mentioned, how that happens and what they'll be thinking of Guts and this whole mess. :chomp:

Makes me look forward to how Farnese's family will react to her departure. IMO her mom will be understanding, Magnifico will be pissed and the jury's undecided for Farnese's dad and two other brothers.

With that in mind, I'll guess Vritannis' destruction is going to happen tonight. Kushans are in the city which is supposed to go on the offensive tomorrow. All Kushan opposition in one spot and they don't know just how powerful the Kushans are. I'm thinking about what Daiba said in episode 243 about giving the go ahead to "the general up on the land to advance the armies." Seeing as Daiba controlled the makara and crocodile familiars, I wonder if the tiger familiars' answered to the land general directly.

Yeah, Guts destroying a part of a city all by himself? I guess he could influence the course of the events somehow (though on such a scale...), but I don't think his friends would let him rampage around anyway.

I actually never even thought it could happen at another time.

I thought about a pincer attack back then, with Daiba and his casters controlling familliars and attacking stealthily from the sea, and a regular army inland that would deliver the coup de grace later on. However, it's possible that the terrestrial army also possesses magic users, like you said (besides, cats don't like water :troll:).

STOP UNDRESSING ME WITH YOUR EYES!
TIGER, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder and what art
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand and what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? What dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And water'd heaven with their tears,
Did He smile His work to see?
Did He who made the lamb make thee?

Tiger, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

Smith, you're dull... Even domestic cats are good swimmers actually (though reluctantly). Guess the troll emoticon isn't enough of a warning when I'm joking.

Anyway, the episode is out.

Lots of talk as expected, Federico Vandimion thanks Guts and the others, there's talk about the tigers, etc. Since nobles make a big deal out of people using magic (Farnese...), he tells them it's just an illusion (collective hallucination? :schierke:). Guards come in to secure the place. The mist escaping from the tigers gets together and... Ganishka appears. He declares war (tells them the nightmare begins). :zodd: Guts recognizes him as an apostle, and is reminded of the Hawks that attacked Flora's place and of what SK told him on the beach. Last page shows us a ship.

The cover of volume 29 will feature good ole Guts. :guts: Next episode will come out on October 14.
