« on: January 29, 2006, 03:29:02 AM »
Walter sent me this link (from ranemaka, I beleive)

Clicky Clicky

This has to be one of the best shows I've ever seen.  It has everything spiderman has and more.
I'm sick of following my dreams.  I'm just going to ask where they're going and hook up with 'em later...

Other than the fact that Spidey has a giant robot named Marveller, it looks better than the 1970's U.S. variant, IMHO.  Yeah yeah yeah woah!  Marveller!!!!

Oh come on, you hater.  The show is so blatantly 70s and japanese, I would have been suprised had there NOT been a giant robot.

Now that I think of it, of all the cultural references Puck has done over the years, I don't believe he's ever done a giant robot impression. Hmmm...

This stuff is pure gold: I'll pipe in that Toei's version outclasses the US live-action version.

Well, he's acted as if Guts was one before (and Puck the pilot), namely Mazinger. :puck:

No, the guys who subbed kinda ran away with it and put their own thoughts in the intro song (when it started complaining about this show).

And I'm not that weird.......am I?  :judo:

The best clips are when Spiderman freaks out and kills the Japanese Beatles and the ep. where he is helped by an asian cowboy with a machinegun guitar.

i have my sources. :carcus:
We often went to the cinema, the screen would light up and we would tremble, but also, increasingly often, Madeleine and I were disappointed. The images had dated, they jittered, and Marilyn Monroe had gotten terribly old. We were sad, this wasn't the film we had dreamed of, this wasn't the total film that we all carried around inside us, this film that we would have wanted to make, or, more secretly, no doubt, that we would have wanted to live.

Yea, those are both gold.  The fact that the cowboy and son drove off leaving spiderman wondering how the hell he was gonna get home was good too :D

That evil council should pass out a memo to all future monsters on the subject of Docking or Sidestepping if Marveler Throws a damn sword at them. Or maybe Issuing Shields to all monsters.
