Do you listen to Berserk music when reading the manga?

Hey y'all, long-time lurker here. :rakshas:

Just wanted to give a couple ideas for music to listen to while reading the manga. If you're a fan of orchestral pieces at all, I highly recommend the Shadow of the Colossus soundtrack by Kow Otani, as well as the soundtrack to the anime film Jin-roh. Those two have always conveyed a variety of emotions to me, which I believe is fitting to the best manga in the world. The tracks are mostly dark and foreboding, but with a small glimmer of hope or struggle. Even if they don't suit your manga reading, I think they're great standalone soundtracks to listen to as well.

I also love the SotC soundtrack, but I haven't tried listening to it while reading Berserk, I'll have to give it a try! :guts:

Cool thread! I usually listen to any of the following while reading:

Dreamcast game OST/ PS2 Game OST
Anime OST
Planet Roll Call (Susumu Hirasawa Album)
Water in Time and Space (another, and my favorite by Susumu)

Here's a highlight track called "A Sisters Story" If you haven't heard it, from the Dreamcast OST.
It reminds me quite a bit of "Behelit" from the Anime OST.

Though the whole soundtrack is great and definitely worth picking up. : D
Music makes reading berserk even more fantastic than it already is. A very wholesome, full experience. :)

Haha OMG those are the exact tracks I listen to as well when reading.

Or should I say do you guys/girls listen to Berserks (Susumu Hirasawa) when you read the manga??

I was wondering because sometimes I do and I wanted to know if any other readers do to??

The best tracks I suggest listening to are (when reading berserk) Beherit, Earth, Guts, and sometimes Forces

Miura should do Josei someday.
Forces is probably the only song from the soundtrack I like to listen while reading Berserk. The best music I consider when reading Berserk is the Shadow of the Colossus soundtrack, along with some Tchaikovsky, Wagner, and Rhapsody of Fire. General Power Metal really pumps you up, as well as some selected opera pieces. The TV Hellsing soundtrack is also a nice add, even is the TV series suck major ass through a straw.

Try listening to Swan Lake while reading Berserk, it's fucking glorious!

Here is a song from a band in Iceland. they made a few Berserk songs...Thought you might like it :guts:

And here are the Lyrics..

As the moonlight reflects the water, A shadow appears

I, I walked alive
out of the carnage and destruction
Somehow I survived
The ECLIPSE

I walk, I walk alone
I walk alone this apocalyptic road
No one, no one survived
No one survived the carnage of the Festival

when I, when I was about to die
Slaughtered like a lamb in the endless eclipse
The skull, the skull knight,
with fury wrote, and broke the Eclipse

A shadow appears

where the god hand stands

and so, my vision fated away,
as the skull knight broke free from the endless eclipse
he carried me on his back,
Alongside with another person,

Casca

When I woke up, my left arm was gone,
And only one eyeball was left,
GRIFFITH, what have you done to me,
You took my friends away from me,

Insane, Casca seems to be out of this world
So I alone walked away sane from the eclipse,
Berserk, in my hands I hold the Dragon Slayer
A slab of iron, too big to be called

a sword

It’s a weapon of

DESTRUCTION

I listen to a whole lot of Hirasawa's non-Berserk related music... and I can't help but think of Berserk...

Reading the manga with his music blasting is intense.

Try this bad boy out:

Susumu Hirasawa - Moon Time

The theme of the Moonlight Boy? :carcus:

Majestic and melodic. Plus it has a lullaby theme in there, which fits the child and how he's drawn to his theorized parents, perfectly.

I like it! :guts:

though, on topic. I actually don't listen to any music when I read Berserk. I find it to be a distraction and it takes away from just how deep I can get into the manga.

On the rare occasions it happens: for battle heavy volumes,
