We're 24 days into this year and Griff is outdoing himself.

Skullord will not rise so long as the power continues to peek at over nine-thousand.

Get it while it's still there: Bill Clinton nodding off during a MLK speech:

Well, I'm through past First Blood Part II, do I dare jump right into Rambo III and go all the way tonight? I wonder if I could still make the midnight showing... ?

It's worth noting, for those that haven't seen them, that the Rambo series is a HUGE inspiration for Metal Gear series. First Blood Part II is basically a Metal Gear movie minus the metal gear. It even has the real life basis for Roy Campbell, Richard Crenna as Col. Troutman.

Rambo II trailers featuring Crenna.

Speaking of which, more Metal Gear ads:

MGS1 Training

Amusing Twin Snakes psychology ad, they even got the poor man's Judi Dench

Japanese MGS3 jungle ad, there's a one minute version, but I like the final frame of this one. =)

And

1-900-NERD-GIRL

I'm calling.

A modern take on DuckTales from the makers of Lasagna Cat, all I can say is, "HOLY SHIT!" Oh, and I laughed my ass off.

Can't say I'm a big fan of skateboarding, but this video does have two of my favorite things.  Slow motion and explosions:

Some obscure cartoon theme songs from my boyhood:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=ldfBe75S9Q0 - We skip the Magical Light Fandango.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QY13D-NsgU - Holy crap, talk about really obscure.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXsjzcC4Jdw - Was Cyril Sneer supposed to be an anteater?
http://youtube.com/watch?v=bXiJYcK4-GU - So Japanese, marred by the Billy Krystal sounding dude.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=G4jd0UWGPgY - I don't care if he can really move, I find his attitude to be quite appalling.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=R562_313v0Q - Asked for M.A.S.K for x-mas when I was a kid... and actually got a crappy face mask...

Loved that show.  My parents could only get me the motorcycle that turned into a helicopter.  I guess the other toys were too expensive  :serpico:

I still know this theme song by heart....
We often went to the cinema, the screen would light up and we would tremble, but also, increasingly often, Madeleine and I were disappointed. The images had dated, they jittered, and Marilyn Monroe had gotten terribly old. We were sad, this wasn't the film we had dreamed of, this wasn't the total film that we all carried around inside us, this film that we would have wanted to make, or, more secretly, no doubt, that we would have wanted to live.
