Can't say I'm a big fan of skateboarding, but this video does have two of my favorite things. Slow motion and explosions:

Here ya go CnC, saw this a while ago thought you might find it interesting if you haven't seen this one yet... well... sorry no explosions :guts:

"Bring the light of day"
Allegro non Troppo. A film made in 1977 dedicated to tribute the un-dying songs of classical music. A black and white film based on a mental institution where all patients happen to play a different instrument able to perform such songs, followed short animation cuts in order to bring the imagination of Director Bruno Bozzeto. I used to watch this nonstop as a kid. Here's one of my favorites, I hope you guys enjoy it. God bless you Youtube.

Yea, that dunk is pretty crazy, although I did like his off-the-board dunk better. He really knows how to hype the crowd up too. Also, its a real pity Jamario Moon didn't make it into the final round because I heard he was saving up a couple of really sick dunks. It would have made for a more interesting finals than what Gerald Green did. Oh well, hope he makes it into the competition again next year.

"I was disappointed Jamario Moon kept one of his better dunks in his pocket. I had heard that he had wanted to try "The Goat" named after the New York City playground legend who could dunk a ball, catch it and dunk it again. Moon supposedly had that one ready for the second round."

I would have liked to have seen that too, but he screwed himself with that tape nonsense. Also, I think Howard set the model, you can't show off in the later rounds unless you GET to the later rounds, his last dunk was his least spectacular (though still technically very impressive). He put the judges on notice early with that incredible behind the backboard jam, I heard he's been practicing that one for two years, and he goes out and does it first. Smart (especially since finals voting was by fans, meaning performance overall was more important than the finals alone).

And yeah, Green is super talented and technically awesome (Dr. J was right, that barefoot dunk was impressive), but his attitude and charisma is severely lacking. He just seems too arrogant about it, the funniest thing was Darryl Dawkins throwing Green's signed sneaks off the judges table after his dunk. =)

Oh yeah...

Yea, I agree with Jamario Moon screwing up with that tape nonsense. He should have done what he did in his video, or at least what I think he did in the video, by jumping off beyond the free throw line, on a solo jump. I really do think he can jump from that place, but I think Kapono screwed up with the bounce pass, causing him to overextend into the paint before making the leap.

Oh well, I also wonder why nobody has done this at the slamdunk contest so far:

Or the dreaded 720! I guess it's just me and The Air Up There doing this one for now. :troll:

And yeah, I imagine the problem is that the guys capable of doing these dunks aren't actually good enough basketball players to make the league. Someday though it'll happen, it doesn't help that some of the best athletes and super star talents are no longer participating in the dunk contest (like LeBron chickening out so he don't get beat by a scrub), save for Dwight, and look how that turned out. You need those transcendent talents to push the envelope, otherwise it's just modifications of what's already been done, which have basically been variations of the Vince Carter slam dunk contest... until tonight, that is.

BTW, anyone see Wade shame himself at the skills challenge tonight? Basically went like the Heat's season. John Hollinger's scorecard is hilarious about it too:

"Lost dribble at start; lost fans' respect at end. Grade: F"

Why? I mean, that video's cool, but Kung-Fu's the easiest and shortest game I've ever played. I finished it on my first try and in about 15 minutes, then brought it right back to the friend I had borrowed it from (and got back my awesome Ducktales game). Needless to say that friend was quite embarrassed. :guts:

Indeed. I wonder what the story behind this is.
