Local Film Fests!

New topic in hopes that it will be all encompassing and allow others to post info about their own local film fests.

Anyway, my local film & video fest is in urgent need of submissions.
By the 23rd.

I realise it's terribly short notice, my friends and I are scrambling to swiftly change this.

Any and all submissions would be great. Tell your friends, Romans, and countrymen about it. The success of this year's fest will determine the likeliehood of another next year. So, as unfortunate as it is to say, I don't care about the quality, neccessarily. I don't think those asking for submissions to this fest have that luxury. I only really care about numbers, for now. I'd like to bombard them to the point of asphyxiation and render no choice but to have one next year.

2007 Chattahoochee Short Film and Video Competition
Saturday, March 24

Entries are now being accepted for the Chattahoochee Short Film and Video Competition. Winners will receive the following cash awards: First Prize — $700, Second Prize — $400, Third Prize — $250. Entries will be judged by the Columbus Film Society Board on creativity, originality, communication of theme and craftsmanship. Judges’ decisions are final. Student filmmakers are encouraged to enter. Entries must be submitted on standard, full-sized NTSC-format VHS tape or as DVD-R disk. 30-minute length or less is preferred. Entries will not be returned.

Those interested in entering this competition must submit an official entry form and $15 entry fee with each video by the deadline of February 23, 2007. The entry form can be downloaded here. Finalists will be notified by March 20, 2007. Winners and most interesting entries will be screened at the Chattahoochee Short Film and Video Festival in the Patrick Theatre of the Columbus Museum on Saturday, March 24, 2007. Winners will also have the opportunity to screen their videos on the Columbus Museum’s website. For more information, call 706.748.2562, ext. 35.
