Which comic company do you prefer over the other and whats your favorite hero's from either?

For me it would be DC manly because I always thought that there comic book stories and hero's were made for a more mature audience than marvel, but dont get me wrong I still like marvel.

DC:

Captain Marvel(Shazam)

Batman

by the way for you Superman fans out there, Captain Marvel OWNS Superman!

Marvel:

Spider-man

SaiyajinNoOuji

I'm still better than you
I'm not much of a American Comic type of guy but... I remember going through Wiki on a whole bunch of Marvel stuff and i was interested in the whole alternate reality of the Marvel guys turning into zombies... I hear they are going to do a Ash from Army of Darkness cross over! :guts:

If anything, I guess She Hulk. She has big green boobies and I like them. :casca:

I don't really have a preference for a company against another. As for my favorite heroes... I don't really know. No real preference either, at least not enough to have one above all others.

You know, I vote New England comics, because they only publish The Tick and as such I enjoy 100% of their titles.

The location of agony? The human soul.
Depends on the comic. A couple of Marvel titles rock, several suck. A couple of DC comics rock, several suck.

It depends on the title but as I love Alan Moore's work I guess DC wins out in the end.

I'm not a fan of either, but I did enjoy watching "The Incredible Hulk" as a child.  Everytime Bill Bixby hulked out I was like :isidro:.

I used to like several western titles several years ago, DC and Image in particular. I was a die hard Flash fan for many many years, still have all issues from 1 to 200 including all these specials somewhere.

After came Akira, then came Berserk among other Manga titles. At first it was like "hang on..... where are the hero's in uniforms saving bystanders in every issue?" Art's usually better, story is more daring, less cliche and completely subject to change. It was a very odd for me to get used to.

I like how Japanese titles seem less inclined to stretch out the story for the sake of it, don't change writers and artists from one comic to another as if they were playing musical chairs. No it would seem there was a... dare I say creative loyalty to the title they create.

Not to start an arguement but Japanese comics are as derivative, long winded and cliche filled as American comics, just they do it in a different mannter. DBZ, One Piece, Naruto, etc. etc. etc. hardly compare to the stuff of Frank Miller, Alan Moore, and some of the greats to have made comics for DC and marvel. I like both for what they do, DC may have more cookie cutter classic hero's, but some of the batman side comics are incredible stuff while a lot of Marvel's projects are awesome as well.

This is like saying Japanese animation is superior to US stuff, then again I guess tentacle porn is the better sex related animation than Fritz the Cat.

I don't know if it's fair to compare crap with non-crap. Or even a manga series with a specific author.

As someone that used to read American Comics myself (on the Marvel side: Deadpool's my favorite, on the DC: Green Lantern) I can understand what Sparnage is saying. Super hero stories get a little tired after awhile, and they really do have a disjointed feel to them compared to manga. Even those compilation books that cover a whole story arc don't flow as well to me as a manga's volume. :miura:
Overall, the last time I tried to pick up a comic book, I felt like the Photoshop job was distracting me... little things. It's like I couldn't get into it anymore. I've read some decent stuff on both sides, but at the moment manga is definitely more varied and engaging to me.

For me, it really depends on what kind of take on the superhero genre I want to be reading. If I want a more flashy superhero take, with more emphasis on subtle character development and interaction, I'd go Marvel (Fave characters being Deadpool, Punisher, and the Thunderbolts (at least the earlier incarnation)). If I want a more grandiose, epic feel, with development deriving more out of a historical standing, I'd go DC (fave characters being the Flash, Batman (natch), and Green Arrow).

However, as it is I've been reading a lot more titles that stand in their own worlds and not really focusing on costumed crimefighting - namely the Walking Dead, Fables, Preacher, and Ex Machina (okay, the last kinda counts and superheroics).

Preacher is definitely very good. I'd reccomend it to everyone in the world.

Ever.

Preacher automatically wins because it ended with a quote from Bill Hicks, greatest comedian of all time in my opinion.

I used to think that Captain Marvel could possibly own superman, but after reading 52. No, there is no way in the DC universe. Since Captain Marvel became the embodiment of magic, Black Adam killed like 60 Million people. The story of 52 is that Superman, Batman, and Wonderwoman are gone for a year. If Captain Marvel is so powerful, then why did he not stop Black Adam from killing all those people. I will tell you why, because Captain Marvel can not fly into space and watch the world from above, he is not an alien. Cap has limits. As to comparing captain marvel comic book with Batman, Batman has eleven monthly comic book releases, and i would say Nightwing is the best of them. So because Nightwing is a story-arc of the Batman, Batman comics are better than Captain Marvel; however, Mary Marvel just got uber hot in countdown.
