Ok. I never read the novel. I read Aaz's summary tho. Wow.

Why did the Dark Seekers NEED to be CGI. Their faces were too stretchy. I felt like I was watching an odd version of I, Robot. UGH.

Dog was cool. Cooler than Smith. Oh yea, and the the whole Shrek bit...SO NECESSARY. :schierke:

I'd be memorizing Shrek too if thats all there was to do. I think I'd have a huge collection of porn from all the shops across NYC too. What a dull life alone. The Dog was cooler than Smith.

You guys should really read the book, it's one of my favorite stories. AND it's extremely short, which may motivate those of you who aren't fond of books. Think of it like a longish Wikipedia entry. :carcus:

Is it online somewhere were I can read it? :chomp:

Why don't you buy it at a local book store? If it's a short story, I'm sure it won't cost you more than a few bucks.

It was written in 1956, so it's not even close to being public domain yet. Just go to the library if you're a cheapskate. The author is Richard Matheson (libraries normally list books in alphabetical order).

PS: A library is a city/county-established facility that allows you to RENT books at no charge. The facility is typically paid for by tax dollars. A small fee may be charged if the book is not returned within a set number of days. You should look into it in your town.

PPS: Books are bound printed works consisting of pages glued or sewn together along one side and bound in covers. Printed on the page is information ranging from fiction to nonfiction to records. They are generally priced at a nominal fee and are generally not digestible by human stomach acids and are thus not considered food.

I like how my town is within walking distance of my house but still far away enough for me to be able to live in relative privacy. I'll have to head out there tomorrow and hang out at the local library.

The book costs 7.99 before taxes. So far I haven't been let down, not that I was expecting to be or anything! :carcus:

Oh well never mind about the hurting statement, but I must really vote that dog to be the best supporting actor... No kidding...

Aye, if only the movie had follow the book, the quotations from the movie such as "Last man on Earth is not alone" and "I am legend" would be much more relevent... :judo:

I thought the original novel had a better story but as a stand alone film I am Legend is great. The film's cinematography, editing, sound mix and pace is great. But I thought the run time was a bit short. It could of easily been a 2 hour film.

I will often see movies because of hype generated about their great sound mix. :troll:

Great, so they wrote and filmed an alternate version but it's still not the one in the book.

The movie was all right, the ending was pretty crap, and the lady and dumb kid kind of ruined the isolated feeling the movie gives off. I'll be sure and read the book now though, I'm a pretty avid book reader, so this one will be sitting on my nightstand in a few days to be sure.

"I am Legend" was ok, as the third version of this film. "Omega Man" with Charleton Heston was pretty descent, but I really enjoyed "The Last Man on Earth" with Vincent Price. I thought that version of this story on film was the greatest, and I enjoyed Vincent price as the actor as well.

For those who enjoy acting and older movies, this one is from 1964, check it out. It has the C seal of approval. :guts:

None of the movies is up to par with the original novel. That being said, The Omega Man wasn't too bad in itself.
