That actually does look really good. I see Christian Bale did the whole "eat half an apple a day and lose 80 lbs" diet again as well.

I can't believe they're actually making Hobo With a Shotgun, and with Rutger Hauer! Too bad the original no-budget trailer got the concept across much better:

They should have just stuck to that frame. What's all that over-serious horseshit with him talking to the babies, anyway? Other than an unentertaining waste of time that makes you not want to watch the rest (even the video has a note saying to wait for the 1:00 mark). Not a good omen when they've already seemingly lost their way amid the first big budget trailer, but otherwise it looked like its retained a lot of the concepts from the original.

I'm just mad they didn't have the classic moment where he chooses his "new life" between the lawnmower and the shotgun. =)

They pretty much did, it's a little bit more of a serious tone, but still as campy (as evident of the b-movie feel to the second half of the movie) as the original trailer. Also if you look you'll see a lot of the bad guys in both trailers.

He's homeless and presumably crazy.

I disagree with the two points you brought up. I chalked up his rambling to the babies as just an excuse to give some background to how screwed up the city is, his rambling about it (along with the clips they used) gets that point across. As for what the guy put as a note, which I interpreted as "lol check it out, gore".

I think the idea (since they have more money and a real movie to make) is to highlight violence against the homeless. Probably not the intent, but hey maybe people will feel bad about homeless people after seeing this.

Anyways, I hope they hurry up and release the movie.

I don't think that was over-serious at all. I mean he was talking to babies about how they may become like him, "a hobo with a shotgun". If the director was trying to be serious with that, I think he has some problems.

If a movie called Hobo With a Shotgun sucks, I'll eat my shoe.

Hobo with a shotgun... meh

The Grindhouse trailers were good for what they were. Short, ridiculous trailers that had their moments. I think making them into full movies, Like Machete, and Hobo with a shotgun, is just a bad idea.

Except for the minute of awkward fat they added at the start. It was just an odd choice.

Not what I meant.

The original did all that better, in less time, with more meat and fun. It got right to the point, while this provided a minute to become bored or disinterested. I don't know that I'd include that seemingly out of place baby scene in the complete film, let alone make it the crux of the trailer. I can understand liking it as something additional to the mythology, but not introducing it. Again, just a bizarre choice.

That's might pretty much be the movie though, and if it's under that tone instead of the original's, not as appealing.

It's how it was done that's the problem, and the issue with a lot of these self-aware or intentional schlock pictures. In large doses they tend to become tone deaf so that it doesn't even matter if they're joking or not.

Haha, buy leather just in case. :carcus:

Anyway, it doesn't really matter, I was just bewildered at the turn they took in this trailer, like they lost the charm already. Remember in Wayne's World when they did the professionally produced version of his show trying to retain all its staples, except they had a giant neon sign, professional announcer, theme song, and instead of filming in his basement they had a replica set of his basement on a sound stage? "I mean, we're looking down on Wayne's basement. Only that's not Wayne's basement. Isn't that weird?" Yeah, it is weird, and kinda the same vibe here. Here's hoping it isn't though.

"Winnie the Pooh" trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbFz--GCkOM

It's actually a 2d animation with beautiful hand drawn backgrounds instead of a 3d movie with real actors or Justin Bieber interacting with badly rendered CGI

Aww, I shed a little tear watching this. Reminds me of my childhood. I'm glad they're doing it right.

Not sure if I'm late on the news about this:

http://movies.ign.com/articles/113/1134208p1.html

So Darren Aronofsky is directing the next Wolverine movie and it's going to be a stand alone project (not connected to any of the other films).

http://www.hitfix.com/blogs/motion-captured/posts/darren-aronofsky-confirms-a-new-title-for-wolverine-2
http://www.comicsalliance.com/2010/11/15/the-wolverine-movie-title/
a "one-off" inspired by the 1982 Marvel Comics graphic novel by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller which was called just Wolverine -- no "the" -- and depicted the popular X-Man stabbing loads of ninjas in Japan.

Hugh Jackman retains the part, according to Imdb and the comicsalliance article.

It can't possibly be as bad as origins, or at least I want to believe that. I won't say I'm optimistic of the suggested plot though, "stabbing loads of ninjas in Japan" Might work in a comic but as a movie?

Don't put any stock into that shitty blog post's "summation" of the plot; it's one of the classic Wolverine stories and if done right could be very cool. That's the trick though, they probably won't do it right, so the original plot doesn't even matter since these things rarely resemble what they're supposedly based on.

Anyway, yeah, it'll probably suck. :griffnotevil:

It looks too goofy and SyFy Channel for my tastes. I'm not impressed by the special effects too.

I tend to agree. I was really looking forward to it, and this trailer looks decent, but the leaked footage I saw drenched my enthusiasm.

I'm not crazy about the CG suit. The no white gloves thing doesn't bother me, after all Batman doesn't have his blue and grey suit in the movies :slan:
Still, I'll give this movie a chance. Unless all the reviews are unanimous about the movie being crap like the Last Airbender.

Yeah the costume could use some work. Also not a fan of Deadpool as the protagonist. Why can't we have a real badass as a main character for once?
