French Elections

I didn't want to start yet another political debate but I'm really curious what the French community of sk.net has to say about the subject.
Apparently Sarkozy is really on a downhill roll and with his joke of a EU policy/plan that is understandable.

Yeah his popularity is crashing down, but that was to be expected honestly. Just typical stuff, and flashing his new wife around isn't going to help. As for myself, I'm not even following the municipal elections. I know I don't help much, sorry.

The election went better for the left if you hadn't already heard. The results that I've seen were the left (and Greens) won 49.3% of the vote, compared with 47.6% for the UMP and its allies. I got this from the economist who had this article about it
