The sequel to Dance Gavin Dance's debut album. Even I'm surprised how much I like this. The songs are technically insane. Drums guitar, bass, and especially the vocals which could fit perfectly into any R&B hit today. It's the most experimental thing these guys have done for sure, and I'm loving every bit of it.

Did someone say Dance? :serpico:

The intro lasts about 30 seconds after which it's nice and smooth.

I just found that one of my favorite bands ever, released an album last October, and I'm just NOW hearing about it. I'm very disappointed in myself (except all of their other albums were like 7 years apart, not 2) Anyhow, its poppy Canadian electronic based music.. but so far, I'm digging it.

I know I know, but honestly it's not that bad. At least it was much better than I expected. Very catchy, even upon first listen.

Haven't heard a new Explosions In The Sky album in a while, so this is refreshing. It's also very good, obviously.

And this. The most guilty of all my guilty pleasures. I don't who I should be more embarrassed about, I See Stars or Attack Attack!

Aeons gone, vast, mad and deathless
If you like your metal fast with no groove (breakdowns and shitty "core" styles included), some melody and lots of fucking reverb, then this is it. It's easily the best death/thrash album of the last 20 years. Reminds me of old Sepultura/Slayer/Kreator/Death/Possessed.

WTF! Repugnant and you?! BADASS. Epitome Of Darkness is damn good. You know they're playing MDF this year right? Sucks that I will miss out on seeing them, major suckage cos I'll also miss out on Dead Congregation *sobsobsob*

It's been 2 weeks since Debemur Morti Productions sent me the promo for ...

... and after knowing the album in'n'out I think it's spectacular. Long time fan of the band, own everything they put out so far. What Once Was... Liber I was disappointing.

I'm going to have to check out some of the stuff you guys have mentioned. I'm always listening to some kind of new music, priority-wise I always make time for it.

Envy - "Recitation"

I've only been listening to these guys consistently for about the past year or so, but they have yet to put out a bad record. They've become more of a post-rock band since 2003, but their older stuff has more of a straight-up screamo/punk influence. They're from Japan, so they don't tour out here too often but I saw them twice in a row when they did a US tour to support their new LP. Very loud and thick-sounding live, but really pretty melodic parts.

E2DaP Records
Boy Hits Car finally came out with their 4th album and its all i can listen too.. simply amazing, they managed to recapture their old sound and still mesh in their newer more emo stuff.

Nice D-scape. I saw Rotten sound about 2 years ago in a very small show. It was basically a small handful of us and rotten sound there (less then 10 people). Their music live was so coordinated and structured I couldn't believe it. How they could get all the timings right in such demanding sounds blew me away. Was pretty cool to talk to them too. They are so broke but they keep touring and love it.

It's interesting to hear the different kinds of music people listen to. Thanks. I have long stopped listening to music but I do like Yuki Kajiura's (a music composer) work, minus the j-pop.

or if you prefer youtube this is the only video of it (person from karaoke bar but sings pretty good), other then an amv.. but I feel the amv would distract from the music.

Your favorite Rotten Sound album is?
Exit probably, but Cursed was quite good too so I dunno... :puck:

That was some show Turkitage. It sounds like they handled it pretty well though. I was at a live-event like that once and you could tell the band playing was disappointed because of the lack of audience, probably thinking something like "Where the fuck are the fans?". A rather uncomfortable and embarrassing experience, and one of the reasons why I tend to avoid concerts.

The last part of the last song from Amon Amarths "Surtur rising", Doom over dead man.
I've been doing this endlessly since yesterday: skip to 2:35, listen to the end, repeat. Good thing vlc does this for me.

I haven't been to a Rotten Sound show YET Turkitage ... in time ... in time ;)

Exit's fantastic ... my order of preference is prolly Exit, Drain, Murderworks, Cursed and Cycles. I'll be honest, I haven't had the chance to listen to Under Pressure yet. I rank Drain high because apart from being fun, it's the first album I owned off the band ^_^.

Speaking of Amon Amarth Gaahl, their debut is the only album I can listen to X'D ... everything else is mundane.

I needed some tender and passionate music to lighten up the mood while I was reading my Jane Austen novels.

I used to listen to stuff like that. Now it just hurts my ears. I must be getting old. That is some pretty bitching album art though.
