Berserk Resume Serialisation on October 24

Title self explanatory, just to let you guys know.

Seminal dark fantasy manga Berserk is set to resume serialisation in Young Animal after a long break. Young Animal 21, will go on sale on the 24th, at the same time as the 33rd volume of the manga.

Seminal dark fantasy manga Berserk is set to resume regular serialisation in Young Animal after a long break. Young Animal 21, will go on sale on the 24th, at the same time as the 33rd volume of the manga.

Well thanks mate, but you're a tad late about the serialisation starting again (check out the Episode 297 thread), and that English news article is a bit misleading. The Japanese website you linked to doesn't say anything about "regular serialisation" and indeed, nothing of the sort was mentioned in Young Animal.

I thought it was worth a mention on the front page.

That's a laudable intention, but the "Site & Forum News" section is dedicated to SK.net news specifically, not to Berserk stuff. That's why your thread was moved to the "Current Episodes" section.

That being said, you are right that the news is worth a thread of its own. =)

Glad to hear berserk is coming back on October 24th :guts:. Does anyone know why :miura: is taking so many long breaks lately?

Because he works so incredibly hard. A lot of his recent breaks were so he could draw hundreds and hundreds of soldiers in the form of two page spreads, mostly by himself. And if I recall correctly, his more extended breaks are often to protect his health.

No, the time he said he had to draw many soldiers was for the battle at Vritannis, that's all. For most of the recent breaks, no clear reasons were given.

We can surmise that given the pivotal events currently taking place in the manga, he had to spend a lot of time preparing what would come afterwards. It's also possible that he's been careful about his health and that it resulted in taking time off more often, but that remains speculation on our part. And of course, he might just be feeling that after over 15 years of hard work he's earned the right to take a few months-long vacations. Or he could be busy with other matters. Really, it's hard to say with any degree of certainty, and it's probably a combination of several things.
