Skull Knight’s Place

Griffith

With the streak of a tear, Like morning dew
Skull Knight’s place in the series has recently been redefined. He’s no longer the mysterious, all-knowing badass that he once was. Okay, he’s still all of those things, but he’s also a real character now. Or, just another character if you will; now that Flora has been established as at least equal to him in the narrative, he’s been humbled somewhat. She’s already challenged him with a personal question, in a much more introspective conversation than is the norm for Skully; not the world event/plot furthering banter he and Guts usually engage in. We’ve seen a small glimpse of vulnerability in him now, and eventually that will grow to reveal a deeper complexity to him, it’s a good sign; more like Guts, less like Void.

Thoughts?

If we do not find them soon, we shall be of no use
Well one thing we need to realize is that the Skullknight is still shrouded in mystery. Just because Flora thinks he still has 'his humanity' doesnt mean its true. Maybe he's decieving or 'using' her too.

Think about it, (assuming he IS Gaiseric) he was the emporer of a country that he alone united. It takes more than a winning smile and a big sword to accomplish that. That takes ruthfulness, shrewdness, calculation, resourcefulness, determination and influence...sorta like Griffith. Most people can change, some people can't or won't.

1) He "stands against evil"
2) He's been out there for 1000 years, that can do a lot to a man's psyche.
