With the streak of a tear, Like morning dew
Skull Knight’s place in the series has recently been redefined. He’s no longer the mysterious, all-knowing badass that he once was. Okay, he’s still all of those things, but he’s also a real character now. Or, just another character if you will; now that Flora has been established as at least equal to him in the narrative, he’s been humbled somewhat. She’s already challenged him with a personal question, in a much more introspective conversation than is the norm for Skully; not the world event/plot furthering banter he and Guts usually engage in. We’ve seen a small glimpse of vulnerability in him now, and eventually that will grow to reveal a deeper complexity to him, it’s a good sign; more like Guts, less like Void.
