Kushans in Wyndam: a ploy or not?

I'm smiling on the inside.
After looking at the most recent episode 230 and seeing all those apostle-like creatures working for the Kushans, I started brewing one of my farfetched theories.

I'm speculating that the Kushan army was ordered by Griffith to invade Wyndam and that the army are actually run by apostles. (Just look at elephant-man and croc-man) This could have all been planned while he was chillin' as Femto plotting an army of apostles to take over a city so when he becomes reborn as The White Hawk, he can come in, destroy all the apostles and make himself look like the savior of Wyndam.

It may seem unlikely that apostles would want to fight each other, but we've seen Zodd kill off other apostles before and Griffith could have made a deal with the shadowy figure leading the Kushans. An apostle may have volunteered his army to become a martyr for the greater good of Femto/the future Griffith.

Destroying all the evil demonic Kushans would make Griffith seem evem more like the savior of Midland, plus, Charlotte is trapped up in the Tower so it would give Griffith more incentive to rescue the Queen of Midland while liberating the city. If Griffith were to do all of that, then the people of Midland would revere him for his heroic deeds, bring him even closer to his dream. Also, after saving Charlotte, the people would probably allow the savior of Wyndam to marry the Queen of Midland and lead the people to liberation from the Kushans.

If what I theorized is indeed what he's doing, then what an ingenious plan. But again, that's just all my speculation. What do you all think?

Your theory is good but i think it is not very likely...

What advantage would Griffith gives to that leader of Kushan for making such a troublesome arrangement, especially if this concern the loss of even his own life (If plan did goes smoothly, griffith would have to kill that leader in order to applease the ppl of midland, and i dun think that leader will sarcrifice for his sake) furthermore that leader does not seem to be like an ordinary character (or apostle), he seem to be someone or something very powerful and he may not do direct bidding for GH...

For me i think the leader would be someone from another world/realm which Muira have yet to introduce us, maybe he is somewhere from the hidden corner of the abyss etc (this sound reasonable becz who can fight a GH and his apostle army anyway). This fight does not seem easy even for the godly Griffith, he may have to spent tons of effort to win them...

There were earlier confrontations between the Hawks and the Kushan where it would prove pointless fighting if your theory is right.

I'm sure that the Kushans have many armies, like Midland. This demon army is just one of the vast number of Kushans that Midlanders and the Hawks have fought. Though you do have a good point that it would make the fighting pointless, strategiclly Griffith could have fought the same Kushan army in the past to erradicate any suspicion that he made a pact with them.

Smith: Please re-read before you type, I had a hard time understanding what you were trying to say. I have no qualms if you see holes in my theory or have other ideas. That was just an idea to toss in the BBS for everyone's minds to chew on for a bit. A part of me also doesn't think it very likely that my theory will hold true to the story, but it's worth a shot.

those things aren't ugly enough to be apostles by a long shot.
I want to see cute apostles one day. :D You know, like a giant cuddly teddy bear or something of that nature. Roshinu was the closest we got to anything that wasn't ugly.

The monsters are simply a result of the dimensions becoming one! Just like the trolls were...in England and places such as that there were mythological creatures such as Fairies and Trolls, well in India there are mythological monsters like Elephant men and Croc people! Your theory is elaborate, doesn't flow well with the plot and would be just plain dumb for Miura to put in!

I agree with that Blakeman. If everyone looks back at the older manga esp issue 23-24 you will see that the monsters and the Kushans were part of Griffith's huge army. That encampment looked so peaceful to Mule it surprised him...esp when he saw that the Kushans had joined in and included. It's all of Griffith's dark ploy to masquerade himself as the savior of Midland and use this evil army to take over everything...he'll finally get his kingdom. I think he WILL be the king and get his wish. But that in itself will be his greatest downfall.

The very fact that when things are in chaors and people are so blind and wanting desperately a savior...that's the kind of thing that brings about Hitler-like figures.

In this case, a Griffith figure.:)

I don't think this is a ploy at all...just part of the plot.

But Griffith cannot be completely EVIL...I don't think he would go to the trouble of letting the families of dead soldiers speak to their spirits before leaving the world just to give an illusion of being holy and good and what-not. I think he simply has an idea for the perfect world...who knows, maybe he will for some reason turn on Idea? Just a thought...

He need to put a good show to everyone that the savior of midland was not evil...

You may be right, but it may just be another point of perspective...

IMO, until now, those Kushans haven't proven to be THAT strong, elephant-man & croc-man were killed SO easily compared to the ogre Guts fought...
And the other "battles" between the Neo Hawks and the Kushans were won easily by Griffith's army, too !

There is more to meet an eye, those kushan have yet to show their best, and for a leader who knows that there were unhuman entering his city (not to mention able to hear the conversation between Raban and Locus), he must someone really powerful...

Smith said:
Oh that is weird, how did he know Locus saying that a strong wind will blow the fog away...?

At least in the translation posted on the board, he didn't ...
He just feels the presence of intruders, that's all.

I don't think that it is some huge conspiracy on Griffiths' behalf. Although I do think that him crushing the Kushans here will add even more to his legendary name gaining him even more favor with the people of Midland.
