Shootin' the Breeze / Re: What brand of pet food do you use?
« on: January 13, 2019, 03:26:04 PM »
My dog eats Royal Canin, the German Shepherd Adult type (because she is one). She used to eat another brand when she was younger but I can't remember the name.

I'm from Argentina, and we have the same brands you mentioned, and many more I'm sure. These brands are from USA, right? Are these brands in most countries around the world? Now I wonder if there is a brand of pet food here that only exists here. I never questioned myself this, this is new.

Berserk Miscellaneous / Re: Ways in which Berserk has impacted your life
« on: January 05, 2019, 06:08:02 PM »
I can talk about many ways in which Berserk has impacted my life, but the main one is that it gives me strenght.

I know it's fiction, but the whole thing about a human overcoming everything, against all odds, fighting monsters outside and inside of himself. He gets hurt every step he takes but he keeps advancing. Even with the Berserker Armour, he is losing sight, hearing, touch, I guess he can't even take it off by now (maybe they will do something about it now that they are on the island, but hey, he went through it anyway)

I love that about Berserk, I find it very powerful and it helps me, it motivates me a lot.
I'm getting all teary eyes and shit, damnit man!  :puck: *cough* yeah big fucking sword killing monsters fuck yeah Guts my man *cough*

What's important to know, I guess:

AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.40 GHz
8gb RAM
ASUS R7 250X

Not a great thing but it is what it is. I bought some stuff for it over the years but I got most of the things from friends that upgraded their computers and gave me what they didn't use anymore since I don't have a good job and I'm not in a good spot to spend much money on this kind of stuff.

Anyway, you can stop reading here but I want to share a story about my pc:

I found my computer case on the street as I was riding my bike to work. It was in great shape, I was surprised to see it just standing there. I told myself "If it is still here when I get out of work, I'm taking it home", so I did. I cleaned it really good, and replaced the case I had that was not suited for gaming, it was one of those old 90's white cases with no air, it was an oven! Anyway, I was lucky and inside the case there were 2 working coolers. That was a good day.

My friends call my PC Frankenstein's monster, because of all the parts from different PCs I gathered through the years.

I wasn't sure if I should send you a personal message Fancypantaloons or make a post, but eventually decided on the latter, because there could be a chance some other people are interested.

A while ago you started a topic asking for some sandbox game recommendations if I remember correctly. You might already know but a new sandbox MMORPG is going to release on Steam on 9 January called "Legends of Aria", originally named Shards Online (if you were active in the MMO community around 2014 you might've heard of it). It's supposedly very similar to Ultima Online, which is as old as old school gets. The game is what many people would call true sandbox. It has skill based progression, no classes, no quests or clear objectives, no  information dumps etc. You have to figure it all out by yourself or by engaging with the community. Another thing they're featuring is moddable servers, you can check out more about it and other things on their website.

I tend to be skeptical of these "back to the past" games that keep popping up recently, but this one has an experienced team behind it and seems to be well received so far from the early access. I will keep an eye out for it and thought you might want to as well.

I will check it out, Bleac!  Thank you very much  :slan:

Wow that still hasn't comed out yet

At this point it feels like everyone's been waiting for Bannerlord since the beginning of time.

The good thing is that Miura trained us for this. You got nothing on Berserk, Bannerlord!

I'm sure someone mentioned it already but I'm (still) waiting for Mount&Blade II: Bannerlord  :puck:

I’d really like to see more interactions between the characters and individual members of the Godhand.  How many more encounters can Guts have with the Godhand before they decide he has to go and we enter an endgame scenario?  I would hate for the Godhand to be defeated simultaneously or in some sort of boss rush ala Ninja Scroll without learning about their stories, but once Guts really pisses them off I think time is up and we are headed towards the conclusion.

There’s no limit to what’s possible to avoid this scenario but the group is going to need at least a new kind of defense to withstand the scrutiny of the Godhand to allow for more interactions.

I wonder what does Guts need to do to piss them off. I guess they still see him like an insect. I think they will give a fuck only when they have to defent themselves against him...But, can Guts do something to them right now? Even with the Berserker armour, he would just die using it against the GH.

Glad to see this thread is spawning awesome debates :D Keep them coming, I love reading your comments.

And to think that this thread has more than a year. Damn, I'm in this forum since last year, that's crazy.

Unfortunately there aren't that many good true sandbox MMORPGs. There is Albion Online which is probably the closest you can get, but it's cross-platform and kind of simplistic and boring in terms of design because of that.

There's Black Desert Online. It's grind intensive and has a pretty steep learning curve, so if you want to just have fun and sink in large amounts of time it's the go to for that. However, there comes a certain point when you need to invest real money to be even remotely competitive. I played it myself, it's a good game, it has the best combat system in any MMO if you ask me, but if you're the hardcore type of player who doesn't like to be left behind it probably isn't worth it.

EVE Online is F2P if you're into sci-fi and also Ashes of Creation is supposedly and ambitious, upcoming sandbox MMORPG, might wanna keep an eye out for it. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. It's kind of disappointing, I love a good sandbox game as well, but so far haven't found anything that would keep me interested for a long time.

Thanks for your answer, I will check them out and report back. I played EVE Online, but I felt kind of lost and aimless, but I should give it another chance. Thank you!

Alright. Albion Online. I should play it before saying anything, but, watching some videos, it doesn't grab me yet.

Black Desert Online. "Your country has restricted access to our services.". I kinda hate this, this happened before with Combat Arms, South America was banned because many cheaters came from here, at least that's what they said. I don't know if this is the same case. It makes me think, do people still see South America as we are portrayed in the movies?  :magni:

Eve Online, I should play it again, give it another chance and just let myself be swallowed by it.

Ashes of Creation. Like you said, I will keep an eye on it, see how it advances and see if it's the kind of game I would enjoy. It's expensive for me right now, though (dollar is getting crazy here, our "peso" sucks)

Thank you very much for your recommendations! And sorry I'm crying a lot in this comment  :judo: I should get back on my trusty horse Wilbur and go back to my cave.

As long as you don't look at my old comments, yeesh. (#douche) And thanks!

That happens. I found some old forums where I used to "hang around" back in 2009 and, damn! I was a childish asshole! It's a weird moment in life but I guess that's advancing. I guess it would be wrong to look back at those old comments and say "ha! I was and still am awesome", at least mine comments.  :ganishka:

Hey guys, how are you?

Sorry for the lame topic title, but I thought this thread can be useful for people looking for a specific type of games or for the ones who forgot the name of one they played way back but remember some details that can be useful to search for it, with the help of others.

I'm looking for a Sandbox MMORPG, like Wurm Unlimited.
I don't know much of the genre and didn't play many games of it, but for example, Wurm Unlimited in theory has what I'm looking for, but after playing it for some 30 hours (it is not much for that kind of game) I felt something was lacking. The entire world is built by players, not a single one NPC exists there, and while exploring the land you encounter many towns, camps, cities, farms, ports, castles, all built by players, and that's awesome (you encounter hostile and neutral creatures aswell), but I find the lack of consequences a bit boring. There are servers full PVP, but they become a deathmatch and lacks what the other PVE server have. I play in a server that has both, PVP and PVE, but there is only a zone for PVP and everyone build outside of it. So wherever you have your base, you are safe. And that makes me a bit aimless.

There is a lot more to the game, it is pretty good, you can check it out, but maybe it seems it is not for me.

So, can you recommend me a game like that?
(Sorry my bad english, it's hard to articulate these things)

I've now made a few additions to my Recurring Apostle Rogues Gallery as of this recent episode. Miura has started reusing a few designs from the Ganishka battle and the Eclipse. I love how each apostle is individually unique and how each was once human and has a tragic backstory of their own. Amazing designs.

Apostle Rogues Gallery

This is quite awesome, thanks for sharing!
