Grudge? Vi sbagliate. Sono qui sconfiggere la gente diabolica di questo posto. Come voi...

Mistaken. They are here to defeat diabolic people of this place. Like you...

::/end translation::

I dont even know why im giving this stuff my attention...but this reasoning is simply amusing. Let me get this straight. We are diabolical, and you must defeat us so that the world canbe a better place? So after we are 'defeated', the bbs and the berserk community will be a better place? If thats the case then Ill pack my bags and go...

Oh well, i guess not much can be done really, it's Hakusensha's (I didn't bother checking the spelling) right to defend their material, and it could have been much much worse.

Yes it could have. Get this though, they actually sent me a reply back after I told them that I would take the scans down immediately:

"Dear Mr. Walter Bernet,
Thank you very much for your quick response and

We hope that you would enjoy our comics continuously.

Thank you.

Theyre either ignorant, or just plain violently polite.

I think it could be someone else... Like our friend "don't-get-gatted", for example... And I bet Yong is a happy man, now...
I mean, we don't have any proofs, do we?

And we wont have any proof, but its EXTREMELY ciscumstantial evidence. Paradise had contacted Hakusensha earlier in the month, and after we banned him, he used the words: "my next decision" then a week later I get a mail from hakusensha...Very interesting.

Dont-get-gatted is MikeT. Of that I have no doubt.

Hehe, I always loathe the looks I get when I walk in the store. "ooooooh YANGU ANIMARU, fo FURANKU SUMISU?"

But its not smut, its mostly just girls in bikini's with their boobs hanging out.

I encourage all of you to look into getting a subscription to Young Animal. It's a little costly (around $8.00 with shipping)but if you want to see Chapters from now on, its gonna be the only way.

Well I think you can make it what you want it to be. Actual legal action or not, I personally am not going to go against anything they say. I fully admit (and always have) that the majority of this site is illegal, we've all just been waiting for this moment to come. And it finally did.

Several months back, before this BBS came into form there were those (myself included) that believed that perhaps it was my site, and my scans that brought the strange feeling of desperation that happens to the boards in-between breaks and chapters to the Berserk community. Long before we were able to read a new chapter every 2 weeks, we had to wait 8 months for books, which completely changed the things that were discussed. And we were completely satisfied with it. Many refer to that time on BSOM as the best of times in the community.

Perhaps this is just what we needed for this community. Smaller, more concentrated and less hectic...Perhaps.

A while back, days after we were virtually forced to ban Paradiselost, I got an email that said:

...hi Wally...

...I'm sorry you took your idiot decision...

...however, I'll respect it, no problem...

...but, I really hope you'll be able to respct my next decision, boy...

...I'm really sorry...

... what's a pity...

pit∑y (pt)
n. pl. pit∑ies
1) Sympathy and sorrow aroused by the misfortune or suffering of another.
2) A matter of regret: It's a pity she can't attend the reception.

Today I got this email.

"We at Hakusensha Inc. is a publishing company
Thank you for your reading our comics, but as you
notice, it is illegal to use any of Berserk illustrations as
well as our other comics' illustrations.

Please delete Berserk illustrations and related comments
immediately, and please do not use them from now on.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hakusensha Inc.

Which means, bye bye to scans. Im not even going to attempt to go against Hakusensha, they fully have the right to take legal action against me. Personally Im very satisfied with this, since all I have to do is remove scans. It was bound to happen one day, however...I think its safe to say that you can blame Paradiselost for contacting Hakusensha, since he had contacted them a few weeks earlier about the relevance of "Chapter 83". Yes, it is safe to blame Paradiselost for ruining the fun for everyone.

Oh and on a completely seperate note, email is:

PS: Yes it really was Hakusensha, the mail came from the PR guy

Shows where my interest in Kenshin Lies †:)

I'll probably see it when I'm up to It. I guess I was put off by how they ruined the ending of the first OVA so I'm in no rush to see OVA take 2 (I liked the way Kenshin got his second scar in the comic way WAY more than the way he got it in the OVA. It ruined the meaning behind it. I can actually dubb that change retarded) †>:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >

Well, at least it was more realistic. I think it made a whole lot more sense as well. I also read the manga before I saw the OVA, so Im not showing favoritism towards it because of initial exposure. Its just my opinion that it "fit" more.

Any cheap web space is a boon. For instance, my own FTP is down right now and I have a few scanned pics of 187-191 that I wanted to show you guys...but I yes, web space is always good.

Update: After several hours of tweaking and reuploading the whole BBS, I gave up on adding a new IM feature...oh well. CGI scripts are absurdly picky sometimes.

Please resume your normal BBS activities, Im taking a BBS tweaking break, at least until the weekend.

[shadow=red,left,300]UPDATE ON BOARD STATUS[/shadow]

Please do not post anything major from now, 12:30am eastern US, until 4:00am eastern US

Im adding a new Instant Messenger section that will eventually be two hundred fold more efficient than the current one, its just going to take a bit of tweaking...

So if the board goes crazy and doesnt work for the rest of the night, dont worry, itll beback and functional by at least tomorrow morning (I have several backup copies, they just take time).

Its spring cleaning, and this has been a long time coming!

Um...that's weird. Mine works. WHat version of I.E. are you using?

Also, I got rid of the "home" "help" etc. icons at the top, hows it look now? Better?

« on: January 14, 2002, 09:02:41 AM »
strange...I had both of those problems last night, but I remedied them (at least on my end). Ill see what I can do, but as far as I can tell at the moment, your problem is client side, not server side (as expected in a cgi envoronment).

As you indefinately have noticed, the board has been updated. If anyone has any weird errors, dont hesitate to IM me. Hope you all like the changes! Im still tweaking it myself...

Oh, and for the next day or so, dont write any Thesis's because the board will be going on and offline very VERY often.

However, just to give you a general estimate of when to post and when NOT to post:

01/14/01: post : 5am-2pm (US eastern)
                DONT POST: 2pm-6pm
                post: 6pm-xx

Clicky. "The story starts off with one-eyed Guts fighting demons and he managed to kill Snake Baron, one of the Godís Hands."
I mean, it's on the internet, so it has to be true, right? †:P
(you should read the entire page, it's... interesting... -_-; )

Hmm...technically it would be illegal for me to blatantly murder the author of that page right? Damned human rights...

Shootin' the Breeze / Re: Any "Six-feet Under" Fans here?
« on: February 07, 2002, 02:54:40 PM »
I followed the series last season pretty closely, missing a few eps in the middle. I wasnt blown away by it, but it was pretty entertaining.

Several of my friends are avid fans of this show, so I try to keep my opinion of it to myself  :). But overall, Id say its one of the highest quality shows on TV right now.

I actually enjoy Sex and the City a hundred-fold over Six-Feet Under though. And of cource, Sopranos is in its own catagory of badass.
