Freaking beautiful music, the french titles do seem a little strange to me *despite french being my second language* I just thought they would use an obvious latin, or simple Japanese name.

A bit late to respond to that fact, but just felt like getting my thoughts out on that.

Oh and Aria is amazing, though I should not expect any less in quality when it comes to Susumu Hirasawa.

I also doubt they will change the duel with Boscone, however I do wonder one thing.

If Guts gets another sword that looks exactly like the one which was broken, then wouldn't the scene where Casca holds up Guts broken sword to her cheek, be confusing to a general audience, at least if they leave out any details of him getting a new sword to avoid this confusion.

AI Beautiful Things (+ a Whole lot of "Brand" new and familiar Berserk Footage)

I gotta admit, the CG is growing on me  :casca: Infact the biggest animation goof I saw in that, was in standard 2D animation. Around 2:17, what's up with that guy, with his fist in the air, with his mouth wide open, not moving even an inch lol, actually now that I look more, a few people in that shot are frozen, or get frozen...kinda weird, but aside from that, all of the footage looked fine to me.

It was a pain in the ass to record and took forever to load, but here's the first ten minutes of the film.  There was no fullscreen option (only one to make the video slightly bigger) so enjoy my Firefox Miku skin!

Note that a bit of the footage here has been censored, but will be shown in its uncensored entirety in theaters and its eventual home video release.

WOAH,  thanks! Those opening credits are just fantastic!

« on: January 30, 2012, 04:16:51 PM »
As dreadful Film news goes this is by far the worst. Actor Nicol Williamson better known for his performace as Merlin in John Boorman's Excalibur has died.

But back on Topic:

Several Remake projects to avoid:

The Evil Dead
The Birds
The Omen
Total Recall
Judge Dredd
Puppet Master
The Prophecy
Pumpkin Head

I agree, none of those are films I would really need to see a remake of, (if I had to choose, maybe the Birds would be interesting), I'm someone who believes that Remakes would be great if they remade bad films, with potential, to make it a modern day classic, I can't think of any examples but I'm 100% sure there are some films that are bad but could have been good.

Oh actually, here's an example, I wouldn't mind the Star Wars prequels being remade, I didn't hate the prequels like some people did, but they did have plenty of flaws.

One remake I never want to see is Jaws, if they remake that, I'm gonna rip out all the hair on the top of my head.

I'll give you this, the extended version flows and is better than the theatrical cut. The bad CG or directing just didn't help :farnese:
Still, no. If you're going to give it another chance, you're giving it another chance to screw up like Alien 4, Schumacher's Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, Blade II, Blade III and a bunch more. Avatar is a great series but with your reasoning if you're going to give it another chance with M. Night it's going to be terrible.

Well if the series is good then sure why not give it a chance, for Batman & Robin, we got Batman Begins. I guess if a series has a good film but then consistently gets bad sequels, I would be more reluctant, Jaws is an example of that. Jaws 1 = Classic. Jaws 2 = Decent. Jaws 3 = Crap. Jaws the revenge = One of the worst films I have seen.

Well yeah Avatar is a great series, but I guess again I should have been more specific, I meant more the series of films they are making (at least if this sequel is made), I know it's illogical but the film was so bad, I rather not put it in the same boat as the show it's based off of.

Not necessarily. Look at movies like 2010, The Fly 2, Battle Of The Planet Of The Apes, Predator 2, Mission Impossible 2, Alien 3, Dumb And Dumberer and a bunch more I'm sure. You don't need a sequel or prequel unless it's done well.

Ahhh well alright, I should have been more specific, if it's a bad movie in a decent or great series, then sure I guess it derserves another chance, but I think we can agree The Last Airbender shouldn't be getting a sequel  :SK:

M. Night did ruin the first Avatar movie, he's also doing the 2nd one unfortunately and said it'll be 'dark'. So much fail. I remember watching the first one and being pissed off after the movie. That synopsis you posted Walter sounds interesting, unless it's well rated I'm going to wait for the Blu Ray/ DVD to come out.

What!? A sequel was greenlighted?  :magni: Only good movies should deserve sequels  :azan:

You know one day, years from now, someone's going to call our bluff on this thing and demand that we perform in the roles we're laying claim to. And I'm going to have to go find a rubberized, exposed brain mask. And you're going to have to grow a beard.

Ha, and I'll have to apply little fairy wings, and run around naked on set.   :judo:

:isidro: Awesome idea. The idea is something I would definately participate in it.

Hmmm what role for the production huh...Well most people I know tell me that I have the exact same body type and proportions to Puck  :puck: *except being a tiny little fairy with wings ofcourse haha* My face ain't the closest match but if fans went together, I guess CG would fix the little facial details, only thing I would not enjoy is how I would have to act nude or get any umm *ahem* censorship around the obvious.

If not an acting role, I guess I would love to try out and help with any prop making.

I guess Capcom really is trolling, they don't put Megaman in MvC3, they don't put him in Ultimate MvC3, they announce Legends 3 then cancel it, and now they put bad box art Megaman in the Playstation vita version of Street Fighter X Tekken.

Don't know if this counts as wacky lol but its trolling to me.

Oh my, it's been a while since I've posted, I had a feeling some news would have shown up  :serpico:

I'm glad from what I see, that trailer put a fear of mine to rest, and that was that the CG would just not move smoothly in most scenes, at least now I can say that most scenes seem fine to me, though a few still need work, when Pippin hits a soldier on horseback, I gotta say, that looked awful...

The movie seems to be alright though  :iva: As of now, the movie to me will now be decent at worse, great at best, I hope I get surprised, in a good way of course.

I still feel that these films are opening a whole new world when it comes to animation the detail in the war scenes is amazing having hundreds of movements in every frame.  The story aside the cg work is cutting edge.

Umm I know I should probably mind my own business and I don't mean to sound like a bully but I have two things to pick out of those statements...

First of all, "when it comes to ANIMATION, the detail in the war scenes is amazing, having HUNDREDS OF MOVEMENTS IN EVERY FRAME", well someone please tell me otherwise if I'm wrong, but CG counts animation correct? Well last time I remember Computer generated animation covering every frame, was the complete mess of scenes put in the modern Star Wars flicks, it's an extreme example, but I just don't think it's necessarily something to judge the film on, it really doesn't mean anything. So I don't think that's really a good thing. I could be wrong, since this is in an anime film, but I'm just saying, the movements per frame don't really mean ANYTHING.

Well we all know the story is cutting edge, that's why we read the manga, since you know, it's 35 volumes in, while this film hasn't even been released yet, how can you say the story is cutting edge, when we have so little to judge the film on, just cause it's an adaption of Berserk, doesn't mean it will be great by any means. To use an example, I can't say "Oh that Avengers movie, looks okay acting wise, but oh god, the action scenes looks like its gonna be a blast!" When there's like 3 minutes of footage released so far.

I'm not trying to sound rude, infact I myself, am looking forward to the film, I just feel you're giving the film way too much credit too soon.

Ok everybody, back to the real make or break issue: did they capture the true CGI quality of the manga properly? :iva:

Hehe, well, again as I said above, I think it looks great, but the movement is just a little...sluggish, atleast on certain scenes, kinda has that old stop motion movement I would expect to see in a 1940's monster movie  :iva: but that's when it's at it's worst, when it's at it's best, it looks fantastic, just wonderful.

They're lazy. Probably one guy on the entire team has read the manga, and is recreating scenes from his head. Its not on purpose, its just... slackers.

If so, I wonder what Miura would have to say towards the team.  :ganishka:

Anime Asylum / Re: Berserk Saga Project News

The CG never really bothered me, though some scenes as people have pointed out do need some work, everything LOOKS good to me, but in certain scenes, the movement feels stiff.

The only thing that bothers me is some of the minor changes, major changes would be worse but personally just minor changes annoy me more simply cause well...its minor, so why change it at all? Like Guts putting on his helmet before those two Hawk mercenaries attack, what's the point? Why not just stick to the manga, do they really want to just set it apart with such trivial things?

I understand that because it's trivial, it can really go both ways, (someone may say, why complain, it's trivial), but overall, that's the only thing that bothers me, it seems like they are just trying to make this a LITTLE bit different from the manga and 90's anime, which would be fine with most series but this is Berserk, it's perfect as it is.
