Displaying Berserk Art & Merchandise

Great cel Joa ;)

maiku, DirectDK, Aazeahl (and the other Berserk statues fans)... we have not seen how you are displaying your statues yet ^^

I think it is very interesting (and entertaining) to see the way a display can be made. Because Berserk statues are often pieces of art. They deserve a good site, a good illumination in order to fully appreciate their beauty. The way the statues are shown can be also an art (it is difficult for me to explain with my limited english but I think you understand a little what I mean)

Hey Kenji, haven't seen you on the boards too much lately! But yeah, you're right, I haven't really taken any pics of how I display my merchandise. I'm out of town at the moment, but I'll try to snap some pics of my display case when I get back. The thing is, I only have one case, and it's not very big at all, so really, only a handful of kits are being displayed right now. Only until i move out and find a new/bigger place, will I fork up the money and buy a NICE GIANT (perhaps 2 or 3) DISPLAY CASE. =P

I have a five of those Ikea Detlof cabinets in my office. I'm going to switch to the larger extra bedroom once I do I'll take pictures.

.....my first kit should be finished by then. :guts:

Thanks a lot Maiku ;)
I can't wait to see how you expose your awesome "collection" (don't like this word) of Berserk statues.

Yo Derek ^^
do you mean that, you (THE international master of Berserk Statues), are preserving all your amazing statues on their Art of War boxes ?
haha, till now, I was imagining/dreaming a big room with all displaying cases full of statues.
Anyway, I wish you will find your place. What an enormous pleasure it will be when you will move in, unpack your entire collection and display it.

Aazealh, you have a wife, haven't you ?
I am really curious to see how you are displaying your Berserk statues (maybe she likes Berserk too and don't bother you with that, but I really don't think so -don't know why ^^ ... halala, women-).

I have tried another way to take photographies with few of my Berserk Statues... don't know if it is good but I hope you will enjoy it

I'm sorry, I don't have recent pictures of how my collection is displayed. Ideally I'd get a display case and snap some shots but that's not part of my immediate plans. You're not missing much anyway, I'm not a huge statue collector. The highlight of my display is SK on horse and Zodd II facing each other. As for my wife, no offense but she knows more than you do about Berserk. That aside, she's not big into collectibles but she likes some of AOW's stuff. Let's say they're just not a priority in our budget.

In any case that's some nice pictures you have there, but I find some spots a bit too bright due to the flash. The cases don't make for good backgrounds when taking pictures it seems, they're too glossy.

Thank you Aazealh.
Even if you have very few statues, I will be fully satisfied.
It is not the number which is important for me here but how it is displayed.

no offense but she knows more than you do about Berserk

No offense ;)
With a husband like you (and as apparently she likes Berserk too), it is an easy guess.

Thanks for the piece of advice.
I haven't realised the flash on the background till now.
Talking of that, I notice that it is really too bright when it is the Guts: Berserker Bust box which is behind. I find the pictures really pleasant when it is the Guts: Falconia Box (less shining).
I will try something else.

Hahaha, that's nice of you to say so but it's got nothing to do with me. She's been a fan for a long time.

Cool. I'd like to see a picture of your room with the whole collection if that's possible. I feel that'd give a better idea of the atmosphere rather than close-up shots.

Concerning your wife, it has been settled :serpico:
I know all the truth now ^_^
Kenji-kun... you're so weak.

No problem Aazealh with pictures of my room.
In fact, this room where my Berserk Statues are diplayed is more something like "an entertaining room".
It is a special place where I enjoy watching DVD, playing few video games, reading books (and manga Berserk ^^ ) and a lot of other similar activities.
I will take shots before Christmas ;)

Kenji-kun! I finally got around to doing it. Haha! Actually, I pretty much had no choice, because I'm moving out of my apartment this month, and going over to the EAST COAST now, baby! NEW YORK HERE I COME! (Any of you SK members on the East Coast???)

Anyhow, here are some pics of my lone display case. I also have more pics on my website, right here:

Wow, I only have a shitload of FinalFantasy stuff.
I'm getting tired of getting merchandise though, I can use the money on better things (like bills :p).

Anywa, Great stuff peoples!
I really would like a gigantic wallscroll of Caska nontheless (It would hang great next to Sephiroth wallscroll :p)

friggin awesome seeing all those custom statues together for the first time, its like the allstar baseball game. Good luck with the move, I know i'd be terrified moving all those statues 3000 miles. Look me up when you get here, NYC born and raised :zodd:

Only just noticed, Derek, but on your first post on this thread you have some small display units towards the back of the first picture (at least thats what they look like), on top of what I think may be a bookcase. I'm looking for something just like that to display some of my mini figures but I can't seem to find anything. Wondered if you, or anyone else here could give me some info on where I could get something like that? Cheers

Whouhooooooooooooo DirectDK, that's just GREAT !!!
You sure know how to take good photographies !

Wonderful kits, wonderfully painted ;)

I don't know if this can interest someone here but I created a blog where I show detailed pics of the different statues I own.

It is far for what Derek does (respect man) but it think it can be a little addition worth seeing.
There is also a little game called "Berserk Mystère" for the French fans and several articles concerning various subjects I like (mainly Shenmue and Martial Arts) but please don't mind (you can select the "categories" : "Berserk : Résines Art of War" to see the statues part only)

The Guts & Slan diorama was the newest update.
Coming soon : Zodd Senma ;)

Hey Kenji-kun, I just watched your "berserk lost children statue video" on youtube. Haha, it was great! Was someone playing the Berserk game in your room to generate all those sounds? Or was it just some trailer clip?

Oh, sorry for the late answer. I've just read the comment today. If you still mind concerning the question : yes ^^ it was the background music of a trailer. I took the sound file of this trailer and placed it under the film.
The video sucks, I don't think I will try again (I don't have the tools to make a worthy and detailed video)

I confirm thez are great looking ^^ but... too bad there're only 1/15 scaled (but it is a good thing for those who have spent $$$$ for the originals).

Maiku, when will we have the chance to admire your amazing collection ? I really wish to see how you display all yours statues.

I got my first Kentarou Miura autographed print! I absolutely love this picture, because it shows Guts, the Beast on his right, Griffith & Hawks in the back, and a naked Casca on his left :casca:. And the fact that it's autographed just makes it so much more valuable to me. Much props to JIN because he has the whole collection of these (or close to it) and wow, they are so beautiful. One of these days, though, I'm gonna get them all! Lol =P.

(and yes, I have pink curtains. so what's your point!??! they were there when i moved in! hehe)

Congratulations Derek, glad that you won it. Looks awesome. How did Masato pack it (assume that there is glass in the frame)?

Congrats Derek, that's a really great piece to have. Worth more than all your statues put together as far as I'm concerned. :guts:
