Griffith said:Does this mean we can all say we "survived" the Eclipse, like Guts?
Zade said:It isn't over yet. It's all just started! Now the whole world will be different for ever!

Delta Phi said:Long story short, I live very close to the path of totality, so I traveled an hour south into the mountains, climbed one, and watched the eclipse while listening to Hirasawa's "Murder", and it was absolutely sublime.
Zade said:You used special glasses?
Delta Phi said:I did not. None were available, and haven't been for a couple weeks (My area was a pretty prime spot for tourists after all), and all the hardware stores were out of acceptable welding lenses. I was in the heart of the path of totality though. It was cloudy all right before the actual total eclipse. I would sneak very quick, indirect glances every so often while the sun was being covered, but once the moon moved into place it became very dark, and the corona was the only visible part of the sun. That's when I looked at it, first with sunglasses, then unprotected for a good 2-2.5 minutes or so.
