Misanthrōpos
I've been trying to expand my manga library and try and find something out there that's worth investing time in. I recently found that Toriko series which is hilarious and such and oddball concept that I enjoy it quite a bit when I want something more lighthearted. For those who haven't heard of it it's like DBZ meets Iron Chef. I've read some of Blade of the Immortal and it's decent but just seems too familiar when it comes to characters, story-lines, etc. etc. Just finished with Basilisk and needless to say I wasted my time. I also invested some time in that The Breaker series but besides decent artwork it reminded me why I hate (as a general rule) Shounen so much.
I've read manga for the past 10+ years but it seems like, as in many other art forms, there are a few innovators and an endless number of imitators.
So is finding decent manga (especially Seinen) basically looking for a needle in a haystack?
