Movies to look forward to

The first Craig Bond was fantastic. The second ... awful. But, I'm willing to give Skyfall the benefit of the doubt. Newest trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kw1UVovByw

Agreed, this looks a lot better. I have a soft spot for Quantum, a very very small soft spot. I remember either reading or watching an interview with Craig where he said that after a certain point in the film, the Director and he were basically writing the story as they shot the film because of some problem with Writers at the time. With that in mind, it's a pretty good effort.

Wasn't much of a fan of Casino Royale and didn't even bother with Quantum of Solace, but this trailer is indeed pretty compelling. :guts:

....Yeah, so are there any good movies coming out for the rest of the year?
If your into history, "Lincoln" is coming out in November with Daniel Day Lewis. Liam Neeson was supposed to play Lincoln, but he dropped out cause its taken so long for Spielberg to make this movie.

Cloud Atlas could potentially be good but I've stayed away from any sort of news/ trailers for it :p
The trailer made it look "precious" and sentimental to me. Even though it's a scifi movie, I'm extremely wary of it.

I am into history, but not the Hollywood script version of it. That being said, Daniel Day Lewis is always entertaining to watch when he's that deep into a role. Should be good if only for that.

I'm still looking forward to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, although I'm sure I'm mostly alone on that. :iva:

Other than The Master, I can't think of any other movie I have on my radar.

DDL is the only good thing about any movie he's in.

Cloud Atlas
Django Unchained
The Master
The Hobbit
The Man With The Iron Fists

Lincoln might be good.

Life of Pi looks interesting

and maybe Les Miserables if your into that?

Also The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - part 2. Yes OMG FINALLY!!!

^ Are you with camp Edward or Jacob?

When I saw the length of the trailer, I closed it quick heh, afraid it would spoil a few things. Visually though, I've only seen set pictures and it looked cool. I really hope it is good, Sci/ Fi has a lot of potential that could go either way.

Excellent call: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/dredd_3d/

Movies to DREDD? :guts:

In any case, it can't beat this film's current rating. I saw a TV spot for it calling it the best time travel movie since Twelve Monkeys! Though they might have really meant "best time travel movie starring Bruce Willis." Anyway, I'm not really looking forward to it, it could just as easily wind up belonging in the other thread, but it's an interesting, albeit ludicrous, premise with enjoyable actors and stellar reviews so far (if they could have upgraded their Jeff from Daniels to Bridges that would have been a big boost). Judge for yourselves:

Oh, and it was written and directed by Breaking Bad's own Rian Johnson, director of iconic episodes "Fly" and most recently "Fifty-One" (no wonder it was so showy). Keep that in mind, especially the latter episode, when watching the trailer. =)

Hmm yeah, saw it a while back. Didn't look particularly promising. But hey, if it's good, fine by me.

Yeah, it's too bad a "movies to shrug over" thread would be too redundant. I'm fascinated by the Willis makeup on Levitt in this movie, I feel like such measures should be used more often in cases like this, but the inherent strangeness of it ("What happened to Tommy's face?") might be why it's not. I also can't get over how perfect Bridges would have been for the Daniels character, case in point:

Fine delivery, but that line goes to another level with Bridges. =)

Not sure if want. Gareth Edwards is attached to direct it. I didn't care for Monsters, but I do respect the effort he put into it.

As long as there aren't baby Godzillas chasing Jean Reno et company around, then I don't think I'll mind it too much.

Saw Dredd 3D yesterday and I have to admit it was better than I could have ever hoped for but... But once again like what happened with Kick Ass and Cabin in the Woods fucking Lionsgate does not know how to market its films
to the public.

That said, those movies don't exactly appeal to a wide general audience anyway.

This is true Griffith. That having been said I believe it comes down to marketing when a film bombs at the box office as Dredd has most certainly done at theaters in the US. Dredd's failure is not reflective of the story, characters, or the cast or the production crew its all about marketing.

Exactly!! I didn't even know Dredd was coming to theaters till a week before. Still waiting to see it, though its frustrating cause my theater has only four showings for the 3D version and 2 for the normal. The Possession and Lawless have more showings, go figure :/.

I'm looking forward to Looper, I know it's probably gonna be just another blockbuster but I do enjoy the actors.
Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Emily Blunt.

Still have love for Bruce! Joseph just keeps getting all the roles and good for him I enjoy his acting. Emily has been getting more and more roles as well. Love her origanally saw her from the Devil wears Prada, also loved that flick her and Matt Damon were in The Adjustment Bureau.

So with this all star cast I can't wait to see it!

Stoker ... made a mistake of watching the whole trailer but how couldn't I ... the track in the middle's got a beautiful ring to it, looks predictable and interesting.
