Perhaps you need to adjust your expectations.

And look who that's coming from. :badbone:

Spider-Man 3 is looking interesting, I'll wait till I see more of Venom to make my decision if it'll be the best of the 3 or a rushed mass of fan-desired garbage but should have been better...thing.

Well, that big ass spoiler post is now somewhat confirmed.

Kind of dissapointing, honestly.

I mean, I don't care how much Raimi doesn't like Venom, we don't need a movie heavily featuring Sandman and a bunch of lame subplots like his kids, him being the real uncle killer, and of course, more Harry BS under any conditions. Again, fucking Sandman played by fucking Thomas Hayden Church?

I'd rather just see Spider-Man Vs. Ash instead.

How are they gonna play that off. (I'm not a big Spider-Man fan). But wasn't it crystal clear who killed the uncle?

It's the movie magic of bullshitting after the fact, and also totally changing the defining moment of Spidey's character as a side-effect. Whoops!

And for what? I guess to try and fool people into thinking Sandman is somehow relevant or warrants the big screen treatment. Yuck.

I like the character of sandman, and the effects in the trailer regarding him certainly looked good- but I agree that doing a 180 and making him the killer is just plain ridiculous. Obviously the goal of this movie is to make spiderman as big a dick as possible, instead of being the goody goody he was before, to give the suits effects on him a foundation. I mean, come on, spiderman would have chased down the sandman anyway, this quest for vengence is completely unnecissary.

I suppose another reason they could have made him the killer was to give themselves a plot. Cause quite frankly, it seems like the whole story of this movie could be fit into one of the 30min (well, 20, if you count commercials) episodes from the cartoon. That kinda scares me, cause that means there will be a shitload of "character development" (aka, spideys quest for vengence, parker's friends and family's lecturing on morals and responsibilities, and emo-ness (most likely from Harry, followed by parker near the end of the movie)

Despite those gripes, I still think overall it will be a solid movie, and I am certainly looking forward to it. Hopefully #4 will be based on something more substantial.

Another interesting thing about this film, is that it has reportedly cost $250 million dollars to make, so it will be interesting to see what kind of profit this film will make in the end to even warrant a 4th film.

Well, given the cost of the film, and the fact that they are dealing with 3 merging plots, I'm thinking this film will at least be as long as Superman Returns. Also, don't forget how much unnecessary dialogue was in the overly long Spiderman 2

Wow....I just re-watched the new trailer. Right after it says Columbia Pictures Presents you see Sandman...roaring. Listen closely to the roar. Does anyone else hear Godzilla? I kno I do.  :miura:

whats with you and sounds!?

and yea... kinda. Like it was backwards or something.

But as for the trailer. I think the spoiler was extremely lame. I probably would have been turned off the rest of the movie had I heard that while watching. This gives me time to digest.

..goddamn is it ever lame.

What's to digest? This is like if Batman found out his parents were really just living in a retirement home, "We didn't know how to tell you we didn't love you anymore."

We now know the truth, Sam Raimi only took the Spider-Man gig so he could make gay Sandman porn, at the expense of everything else, and I mean EVERYTHING... in the universe.

This is a terrible, terrible idea. =)

I'm not a big comic fan, but I've always considered the movies to be serperate. I've felt that way mainly because of Spiderman having natural webbing instead of web cartridges. This whole Sandman twist is just another thing that seperates the movies from the comic.

In my eyes it's really no big deal. But I can easily see that in the eyes of purists this could be really upsetting.

That's not really my point, this is about making a fundamental change to a central character, in any story, with little to no reason for it (in this case, it's for the sake of a lesser character). Anyway, aside from almost being a non-sequitur about the difference between comics and movie adaptations, and going in a circle at that, the message of that post was basically, "go with the flow, don't question, and accept (unless you actually care)", because yeah, you know, no big deal, man. The crux of an entire character is just a "purist's detail."

But hey, if you can take that cock up the ass and smile, try this one on for anal cavity size:

TRUEENDING.jpg

Yeah, no big deal, that doesn't change anything. Just make it into a major motion picture and we're cool. :carcus:

Hahaha, great stuff Griff. And yeah, this is all retarded. I didn't like what they did with the first two movies so it doesn't matter all that much to me though.

Venom was a waste

The voice of venom sounds almost exactly like topher graces..almost no change at all.
Venom only looks like venom for about 4 minutes tops because topher grace kept taking the mask off every 30 seconds.
He speaks from the I perspective...never from the WE perspective. (WE are venom anybody?)
The word/name venom is never mentioned once in the entire movie
Venom appears in the last 20 minutes of the movie and is killed before the movie is over.

handsome rakshas

Thanks Grail!
I wouldn't say Venom was a complete waste but he felt a little unnecessary. S'okay though, Green Goblin is my fave and there was plenty of him to go around. It's too bad that his handsome face was sullied by emo Spider Man. Pretty good movie, and also a good amount of humor.
