The Big Berserk Exhibition

So something interesting happened recently where that Subciety company tweeted about the t-shirts being available on their website, which the official Berserk account retweeted... and then the message got deleted. I couldn't even see the tweet myself so this screenshot is courtesy of @Gobolatula. I have no idea why they deleted it, but I would like to believe the RT brought it to more people's attention and the company got slammed for that poor choice of which panel to showcase on a shirt.

That being said, it sadly isn't the first tasteless t-shirt of its kind. Artimation had a similar one in 2022.

To be honest, I don't think this merchandise would have gotten approved had Miura still been with us. With him gone, it's up to the Young Animal staff, and clearly they don't care. Sad state of affairs, and I'm afraid it's only going to get worse over time. This year they started selling merch that mixes Miura's art with that from the Continuation.

Panini Planet Manga has finally announced that The Artwork of Berserk will be published in Italy, and it will be out March 5th of this year.
That's great, hopefully this finally signals the beginning of licensing that book to other companies/countries, too. For context, the book is a catalog for the Big Berserk Exhibition, meaning it shows off the art that was on display during that event. It was originally released in Sept 2021 and was only available for purchase at the exhibition overseas (and scalpers, of course). So, it's been a loooong wait for everyone else.

Aazealh and I recorded a two-part podcast reviewing the book and its lengthy Miura interview over on Patreon, where the full translation of the interview is also available to the bronze tier ($3/month).

WTF

The next pop-up store will be in Tokyo, and specifically in Ikebukuro.

Venue: Junkudo Bookstore Ikebukuro Main Store 1F
Dates: From June 26, 2026 to August 2, 2026

As usual, it will feature a portion of the merchandise that was sold at the Great Berserk Exhibition.

I had missed this but Glénat had announced in late March that they'd release The Artwork of Berserk in France on October 28. It'll have two editions, a standard one for 35€ and a premium limited one for 95€ (which they call the "Zodd edition"). It'll be a bigger format, will have a case that can unfold into the Dragon Slayer (drawn by Studio Gaga staff...), and will come with eight bonus art prints based on the eight two-page spreads featured in the book.

The only pictures come from an Instagram Reel that Glénat did to share the news that's not available anymore, but for those curious someone saved it and put it on TikTok.

Wow, great news for French fans. Also, the Artwork of Berserk is already pretty big. Next to the other art books I have, it's among the tallest on the shelf. So the Zodd edition must be QUITE large. I h ope it's high quality and large!
