Poll to see what the communities favourite OST is from a Berserk title, I've included the 97 and 2016 animes, the Golden Age trilogy films and video games.

Yo man why isn't "Ball" on that poll?! :troll:

"Guts" has become popular in a lot of memes lately, but I think it's still of the most inspired Berserk tracks to date. Hirasawa's understanding of the message of the series and Guts as a character comes through beautifully. It puts out all these feelings of hope and resilience, and it makes me feel very lucky as a fan that Hirasawa was able to do so much music for Berserk as a whole. I also love "Earth" and "a Sister's Story" from the Dreamcast game's soundtrack. :casca:

earth is a great ost it contrasts to something like murder or behelit i think it could be an ost played when the band of the hawk were being a family

Probably blasphemy for most, but I absolutely loath the "Guts" theme.. But I do agree that Hirasawa's music is more fitting to Berserk, the conclusion of the '97 anime with Casca's rape and the Behelit theme seems like one of memorable moments in my Berserk journey.

I guess I'm the only one who picked Blood and Guts :(

Sign is my all-time favorite, but it's almost a tie between it, Guts and Forces. Sign came out just as I was getting back into Berserk after recovering from a devastating OCD relapse, so it's pretty special to me. I also really dig Murder and Aria.

Sign has been my favorite for years, but historically it’s been Murder. And yeah I’ll shamelessly reiterate that Aaz and me talked all about this stuff a few weeks back on Patreon, on the best minipodcast to date:

Some Berserk OSTs are genuinely creepy and off-putting, like the OST Monster. Those factory-like clanging noises that play repeatedly are genius. The menu theme for the Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage game is also pretty creepy. Can't really think of any other series that manages to capture that otherworldly creepy sound so well

It's either Sign or forces for me but I’ll have to go with Sign, after all it is the theme song that got me into Berserk.

just a beautiful song all around, and it has great imagery and it makes me feel connected with the characters, the story and the world. it is also by far the most emotionally touching Berserk theme for me.

I'm really passionate about pretty much all of Susumu Hirasawa's work on Berserk. But I think I'd say my favorites are, in this order:
1. Forces (both 1 from Berserk 1997, and 2 from Flowers of Oblivion)
2. Guts
3. Sign (all of them)
4. Ash Crow
5. Murder
6. My Brother
These are the ones I listen to and use for inspiration most frequently. The music of Berserk really does feel like it captures the story well in a lot of places.

I voted for Aria years ago and it's still my favorite, I suppose. It was the first Hirasawa track I ever heard, when I watched the Golden Age movies on Netflix 10 years ago, and it left quite the impression. I was obsessed with this song back in 2015 :ganishka:.

I love Hai Yo as well. It's so heroic. Nobody even mentioned it yet and it's not on the poll...y'all are tripping!

Of course, the classics - Forces, Sign, Guts, etc. - don't need to be mentioned. Hirasawa is a genius.

I gotta pick Forces' god hand mix, it have such a divine feeling to it.

Second place for me is the movie trilogy's end credits version of Blood And Guts. when it was played and I just sat there staring at a dark screen processing what I've seen... priceless.

Honorable mention because it is not an official Berserk music, but Niwashi King is Griffith's theme song in my head canon. this is a real one.

Forces.
When I’m feeling stressed, listening to certain music is the ultimate way to relieve the pressure. I permit myself only listen to it when I’m either completely relaxed or under a lot of stress.
When I listen to music like Forces, Sign, Blood and Guts, and so on, I can forget many difficulties, which helps me temporarily overcome fear and depression.
But only needing temporary relief is OK! Just wait for oxytocin to kick in, and in most cases, I can defend against long-term fear around me.
Outrage can also achieve the same result, but being driven by irritation, as Guts verifies, is a dangerous thing. I’ve tried to suppress outrage for 7 years, but the best way to deal with it is to use it seldom, only at most once a day. Going over this limit will cause me to lose myself and usaually waste 1 hour to confront a hypothetical enemy, like “Falcon”.
