I'll take a shot at it, but of course these are debatable to me and could change any time depending on my mood, perspective or criteria used. I tried to go with choices that really impacted me in my formative years and have more or less endured so I still cherish them today. They're kind of undeniable in that way whether I like it or not, so that I'm not making contrived, pretentious or trendy picks. I also added favorite band/album.

I'll just throw a few things out off the top of my head that I've been revisiting over the quarantine and reminding myself of why exactly they are my favorite things.

Twin Peaks - Just read the two Mark Frost books and The Secret Diary as well as re-watched The Return (for the 4th time). I also love a fan edit of the movie Fire Walk With Me that adds in all the Missing Pieces scenes according to the script.

Other than Berserk, a favorite manga of mine is Eden: It's an Endless World. The art is incredibly detailed and very western in style (no big eyes). It's a gritty scifi with some disturbing mecha that reminds of the T-1000 actually. Cold killing machines that use blades to slice through people. Dark Horse gave up releasing this series in the U.S. even though they only had like 4 volumes left (after releasing 16).

Modest Mouse - Lonesome Crowded West. Listened to this album for the first time in a long time and it's still so good. The production is way worse than I remember but this was one of the first albums that really blew my mind.

Read Bret Easton Ellis' new book White and re-read American Psycho. Love them both. American Psycho is one of my favorites.

Also since it was added to Netflix recently I watched Evangelion again which looks better than I've ever seen it before. I hadn't even seen The End of Eva in HD before, so that was a treat. Their re-dub of the show was problematic though. They used the plural "children" when referring to any individual pilot. "Where's the first children"? They also pronounced things strange.
