Made this last night and tinkered with it until now…
Got the basic idea a long, long time ago… it was a bit of fanfiction/predicion I was doing that brought the image to mind. It was originally a take off on Griffith confronting himself in Volume 12, but this is a much broader representation of the idea; it could represent Guts relationship with the Beast at any time, or his entire struggle with his inner demon(s) altogether.
An alternate idea for Guts’ “dream” was Casca (naturally). But this would have really specified the meaning of the picture to my own distorted speculation, so I decided to stick with the universal appeal I had in mind with Griffith (plus, he looks cooler floating in the middle of a space anomaly =).
-Griffith
P.S. I’d like to personally thank Kentarou Miura for drawing all this shit for me. By the way, name all the source material by chapter, win a cookie. ;)
Are you saying that Guts is nothing iwthout the DragonSlayer; that he can not take on the supernatural without it?? It definitely and literally is the difference between life and death....so does he fear losing it??
I think its his proverbial shield. But I always wondered about that. What do you all think??
