Very happy with vol3. :)
Seems like there is an issue with margins and stuff getting slightly cut off. The "colored" pages don't seem as terribly dark as in vol2, but maybe I'm just not nitpicking as much this time.
Why is the damn cover art STILL fuzzy though? I just don't understand it.
It's good to see that vol4 is on its way without some weird hitch (since DH said they were only getting the first 3 volumes first, which seems now like a cheap ploy to see fan response).

I forgot that vol. 3 was released in April, gotta find one now. I thought DH said that they were going to test the sales response to the first few volumes before continuing. Looks like they sold rather well.

I got three and loved it until my friend read it and started an argument with me about a page having two DS on it. I told him it was movement he tried to change my mind for an hour. I can't wait for the fourth one. I wish they would put them out monthly and catch us up at least.

Erm.. well.. sorry to disappoint you, but in many cases, for them, violence isn't a reason to edit manga, but sex is. Remember Ghost in the Shell? Yep, Dark Horse took out two pages, that were entirely dedicated to lesbian sex. (That wasn't even explicit, I dunno what their problem is). Same goes for Ghost in the Shell 2 Manmachine Interface, another few pages left out because of sexually explicit material. So I DO wonder what they're gonna do to the pretty explicit sex pages later on in Berserk.

Looking at 1-3 they might not cut anything. One main reason is that if they do people will possibly be very pissed. Second it would be ignorant to cut out the content because you would lose context.
Now translation errors will always occur but those are natural.

I think ill stik to the japanese volumes. I do have some english graphic novels with explict sex in them but you never know with americans becuase they may just go hey i think we should start editing now. This hapened in the mangas of dragon ball,and the people were furiouse. so they put out an unedited series because ther was a huge revolt and thousandsa of people signed i potition. Personaly i dont want my dumb shit friends to find out about berserk. But hey sometimes american companys will butcher the manga and sometimes they will leave it to its natural beauty. To not worry myslef over it, ill jsut read the japanese ones. They have a nicer cover and feel to them than the english ones anyway. Even though it sometimes gets tiering reading the translations off a piece of paper its not that bad.

As the manga trend grows, I think censorship will become less likely.
At the start, companies had to avoid having manga stereotyped as Japanese porn comics. With the establishment of the translated manga business in the United States, that is no longer a major concern.

Just got vol 3 by mail yesterday. It's an improvement compared to the other chapters didn't see any type o's or slanted printed pages. My only complaint is that the black ink rubs off on my hand. :-\

Ha no. For whatever reason I knew someone would make a joke like that.
I was holding the first page of the chapter were it shows a very dark image of the count over Guts when I turned the page I notice I had ink on my thumb. Maybe I have a new fresh printing manga.

is there any larger print versions of berserk available? I'm buying the DH ones as they come out but I'm curious to see if there is any larger size prints. So I guess my question is, when the chapters are released on an individual basis are they standard comic book size? (like a Marvel comic, for example)

Berserk is only release in manga form 5 by 7 in size (This was darkhorse decision). Berserk isn't release like Blade of the Immortal or Oh My Goddess in comic book form which in later is release in manga form.
