Is anyone as excited as I am about the new Tarantino+Rodriguez movie coming out 2007. Grindhouse
http://www.movie-list.com/trailers.php?id=grindhouse
also sin city 2, hostel 2, killshot, and hellride are all movies connected with them one way or another and they all look awsome. Also David Lynch's new movie Inland Empire is supposed to be released at the end of the year. And the new Coen Bros. new movie, No Country for Old Men, sounds great. So yea...is anyone else excited bout these or are fans of these guys

I didn't know Lynch was doing a new movie. After Mulholland Drive I'm... vaguely looking forward to feeling intellectually inferior yet again. Other than that, I'm looking forward to the Coen brothers movie, The Prestige, and WHY, GOD WHY DID YOU LEAVE OUT THE FUCKING FOUNTAIN?!?

Lol so sorry. Yea I'm soo looking forward to those. And their coming out soon! Darren Aronofsky made Pi and Requiem for a Dream and HOLLL HELLL is he making a Lone Wolf and Cub Movie????

YESSS he is. I'm a huge fan of the old ones. I own all six of the lone wolf and cub movies. This one is due for 2008. Well for now I can at least see the new Scorsese film + DePalmas new one. They both look great.

Heh, the Sci-Fi parts look a bit "strange" (not sure how to say it, some pretty mystical SF here basically) but I'll go ahead and trust Darren Aronofsky on that one.

Yeah, something bothers me every time I watch the trailer. But, I think that's because his previous movies don't really adhere to trailer formula either, in my opinion. I can see it now, "KIDS.. HOOKED.... ON HEROIN!" "A MAN... OBCESSED.... WITH A NUMBER!" Not exactly genuine representations.

But hey, even the hokey-looking stuff looks cool to me, so far :guts:

Well, let's just say that with all the old school SF I've read, I don't really mind monk-like people travelling through space in bubbles made of light. I'll be watching this. :guts:

A couple of early reviews of the movie like that at Chud.com called it the best movie of the year by far and then some. Its supposed to Afronsky's 2001, and that he just might be the next Kubrick because of this movie. Its a bit of a bold statement but its one thats starting to be repeated all over the entertainment world.

Dont forget ALfonso Cuaron's Children of Men, looks like another great sci fi flick though of a much different sort.

Oh yeah, that one too!

Hmm and what up with this Renaissance?

http://www.apple.com/trailers/miramax/renaissance/

I'm not sure what to think. I like the black'n'white Sin City-like tehnique it's made in, but can't really tell that trailer got much of my interest...

Oh man this is awesome how everybody here has also been looking foward to the fountain. I've been following this movie ever since i heard about it like a year and a half ago. My opinion of Brad Pitt has gone down significantly after hearing how he left the production.

But yes, besides the fountain, there really arent many other movies that i've got marked on my calendar. I'm fairly interested in Casino Royale, but only cause it comes out the day before my birthday.

Tenacious D in The Pick Of Destiny looks hilarious.

It could be ok, I guess. Just because it's in black and white doesn't make it a "Sin City technique" though. It's just cel-shaded, which isn't exactly breaking new ground. Hell, even Through a Scanner Darkly looks a little retro to me :guts:

Yeah, The Fountain has been in production hell for YEARS, thanks to Pitt's betrayal. Slightly Green can tell you the full scoop, if he ever shows up. Oh, and Pitt turned Aronofsky down so he could do TROY :ganishka:

Yeah, Fountain definitely looks promising. Flags of our Fathers and The Prestige are a couple of others I'm anticipating.

I've been waiting for The Fountain for nearly 3 years! I can hardly believe it's coming out so soon. It's like a dream. :judo:

I'm interested in Babel by Inarritu and Cuaron's new film, simply because of their name attached.

Tarantino and Rodriguez's new film, I'm not all that excited about, to be perfectly honest.

I am greatly anticipating Gondry's new film, The Science of Sleep. It looks to be just as beautiful as Eternal Sunshine, but with French Women! :casca:

Volver is supposed to be good with an absolutely GORGEOUS poster!!

Despite the bad press from Cannes, I'm still looking forward to Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette. The whole "let's-use-modern-music-in-a-period-piece" is too reminicent of A Knight's Tale, but *shrug*.

I'm sure there's more somewhere.

Oh, why not, Borat and The Protector. :guts:

I forgot about A Scanner Darkly until it was out of theaters already. Did anyone see it and what did they think? And to be honest I'm glad brad pitt left that production, it too bad it messed with the production, but I would rather not have him in it. And The Science of sleep looks really great too. I have the other movies he's worked on, Being John Malkovich and Eternal Sunshine, which are both great.

Malkovich is Spike Jonze.
Michel Gondry's only film before Eternal Sunshine is Human Nature. And I don't think Kauffman had anything to do with Sleep.

Well Kauffmen wrote Being John Malkovich even though spike jonze directed and he also wrote Eternal Sunshine and Humane Nature. Yea he didn't have anything to do with Science of SLeep but people seemed to be grouping those guys together so I was just saying I'm a fan, if you catch my drift.

It's a hard drift to catch when you combine 3 different people into 1.
"He" wasn't quite clear enough.
I get you now.

I'm at work right now, stealing time to briefly discuss movies. You may have to wait a bit longer.=/

I heard about "The Fountain" a few years back from one of my college Professors, who's a real movie buff, but I'd forgotten about it until I saw the trailer a few weeks back. Looks pretty cool. "Children of Men" looks like it will be interesting, too. As for news that there will be a 2nd "Hostel," I could care less as I detested the first one (well, the last half of it anyway; the first half wasn't too bad :carcus:). The "Borat" movie will be a riot and it'll be fun watching Tony Jaa kick ass in "The Protector." I also want to see Jet Lee's new movie (the name of the title escapes me at the moment), and of course, "The Prestige." I may end up seeing "The Illusionist," as well, since the good reviews I've read on here have piqued my interest. That and I love Edward Norton (in a completely heterosexual way, mind you :casca:).

The Jet Li movie could be Fearless or Rogue? they both indeed look cool. I don't care about Hostel 2 either or saw 3 which I hope somebody was kidding about when they said they couldn't wait. I'm not sold on transformers either. But the documentary This Film Is not Yet Rated looks great. I've seen tons of previews for it on IFC. Does anyone watch that channel. It's pretty much all I watch.
