I didn't partake of many albums this year, nor movies, so my list is relatively easy.

Album: Guns n' Roses, Chinese Democracy
Runners up:
MGMT, Oracular Spectacular
Metallica, Death Magnetic
Sigur Ros, Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust

Movie: WALL-E
Runners up:
Dark Knight
Iron Man
... there were a lot of other shitty movies I saw that aren't worth mentioning here.

Stickied this thread, and added Music as a new category to the Movies & Books subsection.

I'm a bit allergic to pixar and other cgi animated movies, but Wall-E definitely intrigued me. I haven't seen it yet, but i have to check it out soon.

Everyone feel free to post the disappointments of the year too.

Album: Bad Religion - New Maps of Hell (honestly listen to the classics so it's hard to know this.)

Movies: Dark Knight seems to win, honestly. Iron Man, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Pineapple Express... haven't seen the new Bond so who knows, and we'll see about The Spirit and Valkyrie on Christmas day, eh?

Book: Sadly my college books take up all that time, and no, a renewed Politics book will not win this. Ever.

edit: forgot best gig..

Gig: The Unseen, by far. Getting to take jager bombs with the lead singer after the show = unforgettable. Oh, and the music was good too. =)

There's an album I should listen to more. I just felt like I reached my saturation point with Bad Religion.

Best Ken Russel movie. But not from 2008.

True enough, changed. I wanted to get the name out there though, since The Dark Knight doesn't need any more publicity. =)

I guess I'm screwed on books too, I can't think of anything I've read that was first published this year other than textbooks.
