Ps3 hdd help.

Does anyone know how an external hdd works? Can you save on the external like you do on the PS3 internal? I was thinking of getting an external hd soonish and was just wondering how it would work on a ps3 if it does at all. Thanks in advance.

I've never heard of this sort of feature on the PS3, so that combined with all the potential money to be made on flash cards leads me be guess that this sort of thing won't work.

But, then again, I don't have a ps3. Good luck

From my experiences talking to a lot of people who own one... an external hdd will work. Also if you are planning to install a new internal hdd.. any 2.5 SATA HDD will work... though make sure it's at 5400 rpms, since a 7200 rpm seems to give the PS3 problems.

Hmm thanks for the replys. I gatherd some other answers from gamestop and it is posable. I just dont know the means on how to copy files from the ps3 onto the external. I will assume by thumb drive but i dont wanna assume to much.
