End of Kozure Okami/Lone wolf and cub?

Is the series finished? I was getting tired of it after the second volume, since every chapter is the same(okami gets an mission, a long dialogue about the background of the assassination begins, he kills the hundret or so guards and then his target and everything without breaking a sweat).
So, how does the series end? Is he getting killed?
