Another in my vain attempts to rip off every popular section of SK.net. Post videos that even remotely relate to the Inn, like anything with swords, kung fu, fighting, basketball, sports, history, Japan, whatever. First: the opening of Vagabond turned into a video. And a spoiler alert for these two: An actual Vagabond music video of Musashi vs the 70 Yoshioka set to Metallica. Same deal as above except this one is with Musashi, Kojiro, and Ittosai at Sekigahara. Weird. And since this thread doesn't have to really relate to Vagabond in particular, here's a kickboxing match with a guy named Musashi in it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pxFHT4EUsQFinally, the classic Home Shopping Network katana mishap. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9o-DCk2qhDMAnd the remix. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN7TtifgBGwNote: Musha shugyō is a warriors journey to practice and hone their art.

I admit, I was entertained. Damn, NEAR accident!? Looked an awful lot like an accident to me! Oh, and I discovered there's actually a sequel to Musashi vs the Yoshioka school music video, with more appropriate music too. Spoilers, in more ways than one, because these really don't do Vagabond justice, cuts out all the story elements, etc. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6cMihnMJOo
Here's a real treat though, footage of Inoue illustrating Vagabond in real time from the DVD Draw! Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irHZ7ILxxWk&fmt=18Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GL_auQkLyJU&fmt=18Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4p1s4Fv-mA&fmt=18Part 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_O8WnYucbU&fmt=18Part 5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gf2K65D7mTQ&fmt=18Part 6: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUf3erfjjBc&fmt=18Man, I need to get that DVD, this is apparently just a part of it. I wish we had something similar of Miura!

Still very cool, it's nice to see how impressive those really are from an in the room perspective. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNtDZ0sStEU butterfingersI think this guy tried to do Kojiro's "Tsubame Gaeshi" and failed miserably. Lucky no one was seriously hurt. Or maybe he did it on purpose, to keep the guy from talking to the girl Haha, oh man, where do you find these? I think these guys need to watch Cautionary Tales of Swords before it's too late: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_RpbaUU7NISome athletics in here as well, my favorite Michael Jordan mix ever, sadly cut short, but man there's some amazing footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m34YclcSmqQ&fmt=18And some classic comedy, John Belushi as the Samurai Delicatessen on SNL: http://www.hulu.com/watch/4262/saturday-night-live-samurai-delicatessen

How about some awesome Inoue videos? These are from a TV show he was a guest on. He still didn't shave his head back then! Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4u_VFBFRWQPart 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5JX1bod4wMPart 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I32gRewzVlkPart 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkmm1wTrahMPart 5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rU6DtnPPyuANow these are particularly awesome. There's footage of him waking up, driving, having coffee, drawing, getting pissed off... cool stuff! I think they're from a 1-hour special NHK made about him, but I'm not sure. I could only find the first two parts, so if anyone can find the rest, please post them. Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lutaxnKDgegPart 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2wGpthlUyAI wish a kind soul would translate all of these...

Whoa, those are incredible finds, especially Inoue in his workspace, thanks Eluvei! Between that and the Draw videos posted earlier, that's so much footage of him working. And yeah, it would be great if we had someone to translate them... Too bad we don't have more videos like this of Miura at work. Well, considering what we DO have of Miura... Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGLtPxJdfAUPart 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfQAviQGtQ8Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXlI1_9H0Ro...I don't think that's likely (we're probably lucky to have pictures =). This all reminds me of when I posted that footage from Draw: If you missed it before, check them out along with Eluvei's offering, it's must see if you're into Vagabond, manga, or just drawing.

I just found the rest of that 1-hour special NHK made about him. It's a show called "Professional". They basically follow him everywhere, showing his life and asking him a bunch of questions. Be warned though, there are some pretty heavy spoilers for the recent episodes, since we see him drawing pages for volume 31. Here's the whole thing: Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88fZ_IhQhBcPart 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SW_4gwzGbw4Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEb8i_yoVZoPart 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2sgOWb5T5sPart 5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iA65Hl5ADrYPart 6: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhBkVRZISXUIt's pretty recent, too. Apparently, it aired September 15th. I think you can buy a DVD of this when it's released, but I doubt it's already out. Here's the official website of this TV show: http://www.nhk.or.jp/professional/index3.htmlAnd the specific website for Inoue's episode of this show: http://www.nhk.or.jp/professional/backnumber/090915/index.htmlNow if anyone could translate all of this!
Inoue talked a little bit about this show in his latest blog entry. Recently I've been hearing a lot of comments about NHK's Professional that aired the other day.
All your voices are mingling tightly inside me and are lending me great strength. Thank you.
But, it looks like they only chose to air the parts about when things are tough!
Please don't worry as I do have times when things are a bit looser and more relaxed (?)...
(...)
I want to touch on one important thing that wasn't shown. Besides the people that I depend upon directly, there are many professionals that are involved at all stages to get something from an author to the audience. It's thanks to their skill, effort, patience and professional flexibility that allows things to come together. I felt anew that that was the case.
I always think that I should try not to burden them with extra work... but I'm not very good at doing that right now... I'm sorry.
In any case, with such a long running series, there have been good and bad times, and things have certainly gotten harder and slowed down. I don't think that my current way of doing things is perfect, and I feel that there are not a small number of times when I feel like I've dropped the ball on something. I feel that I need to work on changing things from there.
And so... the first thing I'll do is start by cleaning my desk.
From the extremely hard working director Mr. A, to all the programming staff, thank you for your time and hard work. I want to thank you for touching on a variety of subjects (like my artbooks... hehe). I even discovered something that will help me take the next step. It was a very good experience. Thank you very much. http://www.itplanning.co.jp/newse.html
