Calling for a major character to arbitrarily die without precedent sounds a little morbid to me. And the way you've worded this makes it sound like the God Hand are actively hunting Guts down just to torture him, which just isn't the case. Guts was in Slan's realm when she manifested.
Ben said:I may be wrong Walter, but I just have a feeling we will see some fairly epic battles involving Guts and his crew. Given the sense of realism the series has tried to create, sooner or later there are bound to be casualties. Unless people think that Guts is going to go it alone and take revenge on Griffith (or just give up on that altogether, and we've seen the last of The Beast).
EDIT: *Just picking up on the "without precedent" part, I think the precedent I was trying to reference (albeit not as well as I wanted) was the original Band of the Hawk. Guts could once again find that thing he lost, but will he lose it again just as he lost Judo, Pippin, etc? So I'm seeing a parallell here that you don't agree with or don't expect to play out, I think.
Doc said:Hope we get to see Skellig before inner-Falconia. I'm sure Griffith's domain is going to be striking but we've been ♫waiting so long♫ to reach this damn island! Also, I expect that to begin with, most of the Falconia stuff is going to be Rickert doing an =o face at everything he sees whilst everyone sings Griffith's praises. Skellig is a complete mystery to us all.
Walter said:And either way, we'll know soon enough.
Walter said:I didn't notice it until today when reviewing the actual magazine, but the ending text in the bonus episode of Gigantomakhia does mention Falconia, Rickert and Erica. So, odds are high that's what 334 will be.
Sorry I didn't notice it until today...

I can't really remember what the plan was of guts & Co. So this Will mean I will have to reread the manga tomorrow.

Deci said:One thing I feel like for sure is, that Elfhelm exists in a magical dimension of some sort, I believe it was all but confirmed as it's historically very difficult to find, like Flora's mansion.
Anyway, I'm sure Hanafubuku Oh will have some say in their arrival,
Deci said:I think the merrow escort makes it a pretty safe bet the rest of the journey should be smooth. The circumstances of their arrival might be interesting though. As in, will it be like parking at any other island and rowing the rest of the way in? Will they be 'tractored', perhaps magically? Maybe go into a mist and navigation go wild, then open up on Elfhelm?
Walter said:I realize that's what Dark Horse chose for his name, but it's really quite a stupid choice. It's not a translation, it's a transliteration of the Japanese. May as well call Guts the KUROI KENSHI (Black Swordsman), and refer to the Dragon Slayer a DAI KEN (big sword). Hanafubuku Oh isn't his name--it's translated as the King of Flower Storm. Or if you want a more generic term, he's the Elf King. I think Hanafubuku became popular because people didn't like saying King of Flower Storm.
Dark Horse calls the technique "The Sword of Actuation."jackson_hurley said:That sucks to learn. I would have prefer to read the real translation rather then the transliteration. Didn't they do something weird with Skullknight's sword too? Oh no if I'm not wrong they just fucked up the translation for that sword...

jackson_hurley said:Wasn't it supposed to be "the sword of resonance"?

Benin said:Excellent, glad I just completed my manga collection today with the arrival of Volume 16. Hopefully the new episode will be out before I reach Vol. 37 as it will give me more to devour.
