Awesome to the end as the timing and themes of his last album seem clearly as thoughtfully orchestrated as the rest of his illustrious career; what a way to go out on one's own terms. On that note, it struck me today that for all his transformations Bowie never seemed to get old like other musicians, especially rock stars, he was always just David Bowie, and now he always will be I guess. Bravo.

On that note, it struck me today that for all his transformations Bowie never seemed to get old like other musicians, especially rock stars, he was always just David Bowie, and now he always will be I guess. Bravo.

That's because everyone else's version of "cool" was always catching up to what David Bowie was a year earlier.
