Yeah, I love the origin stories with the friend and how he then reluctantly brings the vision to life.

Oh, and speaking of wacky images... CLIFF YABLONSKI RIDES AGAIN!

Not only do I get to hear the Golden Girl's theme trumpeted from my living room at least 4 times a night, I can now have this image to haunt me along with it! :troll:

Not wacky, but i found this awesome (url says it all):

http://unrealitymag.com/index.php/2009/12/03/actors-return-to-their-most-legendary-roles-for-empires-20th/

That is awesome, though some could have gone farther (give Arnie a leather jacket for goodness' sake =), and I'd have had Damon as Will Hunting and Cruise as Maverick, or Lestat since that was a case where he being iconic without just looking like himself (same goes for Nicholson/Joker). Those are merely nitpicks tantamount to discussion though, but speaking of reprising old roles...

Wow, yeah that's pretty cool.

My first thought was that Mel Gibson should have been Mad Max. :void:

I don't even know what Damon was doing there. And Cruise had far more meaningful roles than whatshisname in Minority Report.
Concerning the site's wishlist, i'd love to see Sigourney as Ripley and specially all the James Bonds together.

Agreed, though they apparently didn't have a leather jacket. Also, I know that the Unforgiven one was a combo and close enough, but having Clint Eastwood and NOT as Dirty Harry or the man with no name? For shame.

I don't even know what Damon was doing there.

I don't know what Simon Pegg is doing there (like him and Shaun of the Dead and all, but come on), or what Damon's doing there as Bourne anyway, since it's not like that character was so iconic or that Damon looks so much different now. Good Will Hunting would have made sense.

And Cruise had far more meaningful roles than whatshisname in Minority Report.

Yeah, a curious choice, he had any number of more serious and iconic characters in the 80's and 90's, it's like if they'd had Arnold come back as The Eraser. Jerry McGuire would have summed Cruise up well. Final bitch: Spacey isn't exactly evoking John Doe there, is he?

Concerning the site's wishlist, i'd love to see Sigourney as Ripley and specially all the James Bonds together.

I'm still bummed they never had Sean Connery come back to play a Bond villain later in the series (a former 00 gone bad of course =). As for the wish list, Harrison Ford as Han Solo would have been amazing (we got Indy already for better and worse), and actually, Sigourney Weaver reprized Aliens era Ripley in Laser Cats 5 on SNL a few weeks ago, complete with James Cameron:

http://www.hulu.com/watch/121061/saturday-night-live-digital-short-laser-cats-5

Some screens since you guys probably can't watch that:

She's still got it.

Not bad for 25 years later.

Still better than Alien: Resurrection.

At this point i bet Leno will try pretty much everything to clean his image.

I certainly was surprised by the commercial when I saw it during the Super Bowl, and was happy to hear they did it last week, and not at some earlier date before Jay knew he'd have that time slot back. At first I guessed it was yet another way to undermine Conan's Tonight Show. =)
