I didn't really take that the sword has become "stronger" since then into consideration, dumb me, but that is definitely true. However, if Zodd plays it super smart (like he would?), i.e. crushing him or using his flight, he could beat Guts fairly easily. I'd say that Zodd wouldn't be "cheap"...
