I've been busy with work, so the project was a little behind my plan..
Here is the latest update.
I used the Gun-blue technique on other metal parts such as arm cannon. Also the 4 of the fingers are now articulated on the roots. Also added hand plate to match the original design.
Added some cut marks using Dremel tool
Also did layers of painting on other armor parts. (still need some weathering) Roughly they match the Gun-blued metal parts now.
Building a 2nd Sword (Dragon Slayer)
Original plan was to make a battle damaged version with cuts and scratches, but I realized that his sword never got damaged since he got the new armor..
So, I decided to make a light weight version with blood stain instead. I'm using thin plastic panels to get minimum weight. (It will make it easier to pose him with sword
Also started working on the leather bindings for armor parts.
Also painted the crossbow arm attachment. Plastic parts are painted and metal parts are gun-blued (except for aluminum parts - they can't be blued..)
Still need to work on the string and paint the arrows.
Continued working on the other leather parts and partial dye. Still need weathering pass. For the leather parts, I'm not sure if I should do pastel weathering or something else. maybe some sanding might help? the edges are too thin to burnish, I think..
Test fitting whatever I have so far..
Still need weathering pass, and more gun-bluing small parts here and there.
Also need to finish his swords and make new cape/cloak thing.
Looks like I can finish the project by the end of the month as planned!!
