So wait... he can't take the armor off, ever? It's bonded to his body?

No, he's taken it off several times already... They had trouble removing it after his fight with Grunberd because the armor had pierced his body to maintain his bones, but now he can remove it whenever he wants. He needs an armor though, and the Berserk's armor helps him enduring the pain from his wounds, that's why he's wearing it at the moment. He didn't wear it when resting in bed at the inn a bit earlier (episode 251), or while eating at night near the beach (episode 236).

Well aside from the people that ALWAYS take speculation too far. Or whose speculation has absolutely no merit to people who know the first thing about the subject. I don't see how you can all compare Guts to SK at this point. Saying that he is near him in any way is ridiculous.

Just read the part when Skullknight saves guts from the eclipse again. He flies through that hellish domain effortlessly anatomizing anything that gets in his way, save Void of course. The fact that he was able to get that close without just being smitten holds some water on its own. Just look at how Guts is effortlessly tossed aside with a wall of force in Volume 3.

SK has never at any point shown any signs of damage or fatigue. Even while single handedly holding off the demon soldiers at Flora's place. Zodd can offer little more than a distraction with his nearly indestructable body.

As far as mangling corporeal objects goes, Guts is nearly on par with skullknight... Sure. This does not, however, mean that he could even scratch him.
