Yeah, but there were rumors that Rammstein was a (radical) 'right wing' band if you know what a mean, nazis downright, and that song is their answer to those rumors. Links (left) not rechts (right, in the meaning of Nazis). That's behind those lines like:

They want my heart on the right spot
but then I look below
it beats left there
left two three four left

... Wh.. what? O.O; Er.. what? I.. know they aren't Nazis.. I.. what?

Anyway, even without this background knowledge, I dont think that this song fits so well. A little explanation maybe?

Well, it seems (to me) like it would fit her character before the eclipse. Her attitude and such.. Or maybe..

Can you ask hearts
(can you) carry a child under yourself
can you give it away
(can you) think with your heart

.. just clicked something in my brain. Maybe I just thought it related so well to Caska after the eclipse, that it warped my perspective. :-X

But, I'm not married to the idea. Hm. Sadly, I can't think of another song for her. ???

Rumors rumors rumors, take a deep breath, and calm down. ^^""
At least that song can be interpreted (and was) as an answer to those rumors. But that's long ago and I never new any details on this so...nevermind. ^^"

Me neither, but that's because I listen to much of the heavier stuff, music that doesn't suit Casca very well, but then again, maybe It's because I don't listen often to the lyrics of songs. ^^"

You people really need to stop adding the lyrics, it takes too much space up.

Anywho, I got in touch with my Iced Earth and Metallica side and made this new list:
Guts: Metallica - The Memory Remains
Griffith: Iced Earth - Angels Holocaust
Zodd: Iced Earth - Pure Evil
Caska: Iced Earth - Birth of the Wicked
Eclipse: Iced Earth - Cast In Stone

Guts Theme

Alice In Chains - Nutshell

We chase misprinted lies
We face the path of time
And yet I fight
And yet I fight
This battle all alone
No one to cry to
No place to call home

Oooh...Oooh...
Oooh...Oooh...

My gift of self is raped
My privacy is raked
And yet I find
And yet I find
Repeating in my head
If I can't be my own
I'd feel better dead

Oooh...Oooh...
Oooh...Oooh...

Not exactly a big fan of the Linkin Park sounding scream, but what the hell.

Guts: Future Leaders of the World - Let Me Out
Guts (again): Glassjaw - Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence
Griffith: KoRn - Falling Away From Me
Ishidoro: Gorillaz - Tommorow Comes Today
Zodd: Slayer - South Of Heaven

I heard Anarchy by KMFDM the other day. The lyrics reminded me of Griffith. Would this be a fitting theme song for him?

You break my back
You won't break me
All is black
But I still see
Shut me down
Knock me to the floor
Shoot me up
Fuck me like a whore

Trapped under ice
Comfortably cold
I've gone as low as you can go
Feel no remorse
No sense of shame
Time's gonna wash away all pain

I made a god out of blood
Not superiority
I killed the king of deceit
Now I sleep in anarchy

Sacrifice to the cause
Turn your code into law
Compensate to validate the loss
Take a thief
Nail him to a cross

Gospel of rage
Faction of hate
Deviate from the absolute
Born of revenge
Raised on cement
Chaos created government

I made a god out of blood
Not superiority
I killed the king of deceit
Wake me up in anarchy

So much Iced Earth yet somehow Slave to the Dark was missed for Griffith:

"A twisted state of mind, torn between two worlds
One of which the new me hates and the one that's coming true
The power is unleashed, they perish at my gaze
But am I really in control or am I just a slave

I called upon this god to deliver unto me
To grant what I desire he brought me to my knees
He turned his back on me and filled me with his lies
Ask and I received damnation was the price

I signed my name in blood, didn't read the fine print
Now I'm just a puppet god for the devils own descent
Bound and shackled here forever damned a slave
Fallen bloody tears can't wash the pain away

All at once it's clear to me
Damnation and destiny
A slave to darkness shall I be
Damnation and destiny"

When I think of Guts, I think Marilyn Manson - The Fight Song. I mean, it's not exactly a complex melodic masterpiece, but it does sort of reflect Guts' mood when he's in berserker mode. It reminds me of him most around the chapters involving Mozgus and the temple...

"I'm not a slave, to a god, that doesn't exist!"
"I'm not a slave, to a world, that doesn't give a shit!"
"FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!" etc.

I'm surprised nobody else had mentioned this song yet... Or maybe everyone else didn't like the AMV version? lol

I'd love to relate some In Flames to Berserk, but maybe because it tended to be playing as I read the manga? Only for the Weak sounds about the closest, title-wise... But doesn't really relate well.

Trigger however does kind of fit Guts' situation with his new group...

"From green to red our days pass by"
"Waiting for the sign to tell us why"
"Are we dancing all alone?"

"Collect some stars, to shine for you"
"And start today, there are only a few"
"A sign of times, my friend."

The last bit there just reminds me of his situation now, collecting "stars". (New comrades.)

Music is all subjective, really. We can't always say why certain songs strike a chord with us, while others fall flat on their face, so really everyone is probably going to have their own idea of a perfect theme... I personally don't think anything classical fits the whole feel of Berserk thus far, but then I'm an angsty teeny bopper sellout who likes Manson and In Flames. lol

*Disclaimer* Manson as a person isn't a favorite for sure.. But whatever his motivation, be it money, fame or artistic drive, I still like a lot of his music. *Though I'd not be caught dead at his concerts.*

Griffith - Nick Cave - Red Right Hand

On the gathering storm comes a tall handsome man in a dusty black coat with a red right hand

He'll wrap you in his arms tell you that you've been a good boy. He'll rekindle all the dreams that took you a life time to destroy, reach deep into the hole, heal your shrinking soul but there won't be a single thing that you can do

He's a God, he's a man , he's a ghost, he's a Guru....They're whispering his name through this dissapearring land...but hidden in his coat is a red right hand.

Or it could remind you of Hellboy. It was in the movie after all. :)

I am Zodd...you are dead.
Rage Against the Machine - Bombtrack when Guts is clearly enjoying killing loads of people.
Rage Against the Machine - Beautiful World during a cruital part of the Eclipse (it would get boring if you had it all the way through).
Rage Against the Machine - Renegades of Funk when the Hawks are doing their thing.
Rage Against the Machine - Voice of the Voiceless when something bad happens to someone special.
Rage Against the Machine - Street Fighting Man as a general theme song for Guts.
