Misc. original art and the such

Figured I would post what art I've got so far. Only a few of these are in color though, because I actually had access to an art program (Paint Shop Pro), but that was only an 80 day trial, Although I did color a few using MS Paint 
I wish I knew how to use Photoshop at school....

I could use opinions of what needs changing, what looks bad, what looks good, etc, as there's always room for improvement!

And for those of you paying attention to detail, yes there was a strange looking monkey, yes there was a cactuar with a giant axe, and yes there was a Guts rip-off in there.

Thats a very large art dump you just took there, hehe.

If I were to suggest anything it would an overall effort to improve your anatomy and proportion. The "anime" style has a strong foundation in the same things in which other styles are based off of, without that foundation it will always look off.
So while it may not be as fun for you as creating your own anime characters, I would suggest looking/drawing from anatomy books, photos and the renaissance masters.

Aye, my photobuket account has been building up over the past year or two.
We worked on anatomy and proportion in Art class, but I guess that drawing everything the right size and the such just...doesn't look as 'right'.

Of course, i'll keep working on that (and I'll make sure to never "brand" any of my characters/weapons ever again lol)

The great eclipse

A few months ago in school I made this pic of the Great Eclipse for a geometric shapes project:

The picture was on paper that was way too big for my scanner though, so that's only the majority of everything that's going on. It is originaly in pencil, but I decided to make it red on the computer (loks more like the eclipse when it's red )

I wouldn't worry about copyright infringement just yet, least of all from these board members.

I'd continue to work on proportion and anatomy. Use reference where needed. Its tough, I know, but keep at it.
Your eclipse pic, while interesting, could stand a stronger composition. The main breakups of the picture are the diagonal line of faces and the other thing over Griff's head (Is that the DS?). Its feeling a bit random.

Lets see some more!

I'll try and just take a pic with my digital camera to show the entire thing (although there isn't THAT much more to it).
My eclipse pic was actually just to give me something to do. In art we had to draw these geometric styrofoam shapes that were just sort of thrown onto the table. Took forever to think of something, but the millions of faces from the eclipse just kept comming to my head, so I randomly figured out things to put in there, hence the randomness lol. That....could be the Dragonslayer, I just tryed to make it look like a sword >_>

At least you can tell it's Griffith's head/helm, my friend thought it was a sad Jack Skelington >_<

The point of it all was to scare people, and scare them it did. It got me more comments than any of my other pictures, so far.

geometric Styrofoam thrown onto a table. Can't say I'm too familiar with that process, but you did nicely on on the shading. But yea, I'd say the aspect that needs the greatest deal of attention here is the composition. You've got some good ideas going here. Perhaps instead of a sword it could be the broken sword? Ubik's eyes are also a focal point in the piece, perhaps they could be placed where they could balance the picture. Say, his face taking up the top 1/3 of the picture. The possibilities are there.

Well, its a scary scene
The potential is there, it just needs a bit more tweaking.
